how this holiday makes a difference
Benefitting the local economy
We purchase as much product locally as possible, we support small local businesses, we recommend several local businesses of a similar theme - whale/dolphin watching, Bushtucker-cave-canoe-winery tours, largest Hemp retailer in Oz & highest certified Organic Wines in Oz. Eagle raptor rehabiliation centre, Naturaliste Reptial Centre, Metricup Bird Park, The Olive Factory.

Environmental management
We use recycled paper products where possible, toilet rolls, paper towels, tissues. Large bottles of shampoo/conditioner so no small sample bottles, body wash, use Enjo cleaning gloves - no chemicals only water. Water efficient shower heads, solar designed buildings, well insulated, slow combustion wood fires, Inverter r/cAirconditioners selected for low noise and efficient running costs, hand made mudbricks, onsite farm timber used in fit-out, energy efficient lightglobes throughout.

We have NEAP Advanced accrediatation (since Dec 99). We have beene finalists in the State Landcare Awards, Australian Banksia Environmental Awards, state Small Business Awards for Environment.

Our current project is a 100 acre "Conservation Sanctuary" that is now predator proof fenced to ensure a safe environment to release endangered native species to return to an "Eden status." Our Woylie breeding program is very successful so clients now see these delightful 10” high Kangaroos around the chalet reguallary, they are now Critically Endangered on the Australian Endangered Natice Species list.

We employ conservation volunteers, A Wwoof host property, provide recycle bins and a chook bucket, and recycle waste in large skip bins. We are members of Land for Wildlife.

Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people.

We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel.

'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left).

We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays.

We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism.

This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards.
