description
A wonderful safari experience visiting two diverse eco-systems in the hands of expert guides and staying in luxurious classic bush camps. Porini Camp and the Eselenkei Conservation area offer a private bush experience and the area has the added attraction of night game drives. There will also be game drives in the adjacent Amboseli National Park, famous for its huge elephant herds and views of Kilimanjaro. The safari then transfers into the Rift Valley and the Masai Mara where you will be hosted at our luxury bush camp, located in the Koyaki Lemek Group Ranch, a Masai co-operative on the Aitong Plains. Your guide will take you game-driving through this game-rich area and there will also be the opportunity of a bush walk. Finally you will fly back into Nairobi in the morning or afternoon of the last day.

travellers' tales
It was simply the most perfect holiday. We were able to put together our own personal itinerary so we visited Lamu Island, Porini tented camp in the Selenkay conservation area, and Kicheche camp in the Masaai Mara. (more)
how this holiday makes a difference
The camp impinges so little on the natural inhabitants of this prolific reserve that the animals that wander through the grounds at any time unperturbed. We have minimised our impact on the environment through the following measures: all non-biodegradable waste is removed from the region to a suitable collection point in Nairobi, recycled charcoal dust pellets are brought in from Nairobi for water heating.

Supporting the local community through employment. The selling of local crafts made by the staff, to guests. Educating the staff on the importance of maintaining the culture and environmental eco systems within the Masai Mara. Local communities are financially supported through the payment of entry fees for each guest.

Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people.

We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel.

'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left).

We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays.

We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism.

This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards.
