description
This jungle lodge is situated in a unique and beautiful location alongside the Sok River that flows beside a breathtaking karst mountain. It is surrounded by primary forest which makes it truly exceptional and creates ultimate, privacy, comfort and tranquillity.
The mountains and water scenery depicted in old Chinese scrolls actually exists at Khao Sok National Park. The lodge faces a clear brook and majestic limestone cliffs. From the house you can trek into a rainforest which is one of Thailand's best preserved habitats for tropical vegetation and wildlife.
While you are here you can enjoy many of the exciting activities that we offer which include: guided jungle walks, elephant treks, canoe trips, night safaris, lake tours (day & overnight), tubing down the Sok River.
For the ultimate jungle experience come and stay with us in our section of exclusive tree-houses, safari-tent-houses and bungalows. We have double, triple and family rooms to suite a range of needs. The Thai rainforest is benign with few mosquitoes or other predators.

travellers' tales
Amazing! We loved the lodge, I'm still missing the food! The accommodation was clean and comfortable, Klaus was so lovely and very funny, I truly felt his only desire was that you had the best holiday ever and he was more than happy to arrange anything for us that we wanted to do. (more)

how this holiday makes a difference
We take our commitment to responsible tourism very seriously and employ local people. As well as this all arrangements of tours are done with locals. All goods are bought from local business people and tax is paid to the local community. The main part of our property is pure rainforest with trees some hundred years old and the accommodation has been designed to have a minimal impact on the eco system (10 units on 112000 square meters ). We instruct our guests to follow certain rules for their own comfort and the benefit of the wildlife, especially the mammals such as gibbons, macaques, lemurs and squirrels. We strongly advise everybody not to feed them in order that they remain wild. We arrange guided jungle and laketours and therefore are indirectly one of the main sponsors of the National Parks in the Khao Sok area. We separate our garbage (plastic, paper, aluminium, glass) for recycling and try to teach local people to do the same. To reduce the spreading of plastic bottles we offer refilling (out of our drinking water recources) for the half price of a new bottle. It's our intention to keep the "plastic-level" as low as possible. |
Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people. We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel. 'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left). We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've lead the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays. We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism. This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards. |
