A resort situated in a cove with a backdrop of sheer limestone cliffs. The resort's charm is enhanced by its crystal clear blue waters teeming with colourful tropical fishes.

This resort believes in respecting its natural resources through responsible tourism. The resort work closely with the local community in the prevention of illegal fishing, promotion of coastal clean-ups, environmental education campaigns, monitoring of snorkeling sites and dive sites, and installation and maintenance of mooring buoys. Having been operating in El Nido since 1981, the resort has gained extensive knowledge of the area. From this knowledge and experience evolved a distinct quality of service that allows guests to have an enriching holiday.

The resort offers activities as diverse as the environment. Sunbathe or have a picnic lunch in secluded beaches, kayak in secret lagoons, explore isolated islands, take a mangrove tour, snorkel with colourful tropical fishes, have a relaxing massage or spa treatment, rock climb or go scuba diving. There are more than 20 diving sites, all easily accessible from the resort!

Due to the resort’s first-class facilities and impeccable service, the prestigious Philippine National Tourism Awards “Kalakbay” has bestowed the resort with numerous 'Resort of the Year' awards for (category) A Resort and was even elevated to Kalakbay Hall of Fame for successively winning the Resort of the year awards . • how this holiday makes a difference
This resort is committed to what we have been doing for the past twenty five years – being good neighbours by providing meaningful and worthwhile employment, livelihood and training opportunities to the local communities; being faithful stewards of the natural environment.

Miniloc Island is a strategic jump-off point for all the best dive sites in the El Nido area, and the resort has been a faithful steward of these sites. The resort has maintained mooring buoys set up over eleven years ago for all the dive boats, including those from the local communities, to use. The resort has also been conducting regular patrols to discourage illegal fishermen from carrying out their activities. Around Miniloc Island are numerous sea turtle nesting sites that the resort has also been protecting from both human poaching and predation from monitor lizards.

To minimize the use of disposable plastic water bottles, El Nido Resorts recently implemented its “refillable drinking water system”.Instead of giving complimentary bottled water, each room is provided with a refillable flask which is replenished for every nights stay. In addition, an El Nido Be GREEN water bottle, with unlimited refill, is also on sale at the resorts and beach clubs. This will reduce the purchase of bottled water during activities and meals whilst in El Nido.Aside from being cost-efficient, this new system aims to reduce negative environment impact of having to disposable empty water bottles which, more often than not, end up in landfills.

The resort, it may be said, put the area on the tourism map. What started out as a dive camp over twenty five years ago has consistently carried out practices and activities that ensure marine conservation in the area.

Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people.

We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel.

'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left).

We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've lead the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays.

We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism.

This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards.
