description
This luxurious 4 star Loch Ness bed and breakfast accommodation is set amidst the wild beauty and quiet of the south side of Loch Ness.

Nestling in the woods in Inverfarigaig this unique Loch Ness B&B accommodation has been designed to maximise the views out over Loch Ness and into the forest.

The large windows and use of wood throughout the Loch Ness bed & breakfast accommodation help to enhance the feeling of light and space and give a sense of being at one with the natural environment. In addition to B&B accommodation we can also provide a home cooked evening meal using fresh local produce and we can cater for diets including vegetarians/vegans.

Please note: We ask for a minimum stay of 2 nights. We want to encourage guests to really see the Loch Ness area and 1 night stays mean increased laundry which does not equate with our environmental policy in terms of minimising energy and water use.
activities at Loch Ness bed & breakfast
Walking: Low level walking in the Loch Ness area, and in particular South Loch Ness, is very special because not only is the scenery superb, and the views fantastic, but because it remains largely 'undiscovered'. In an age of mass tourism and enjoyment by all of the great outdoors, our Loch Ness B&B accommodation remains in a very peaceful and tranquil area. We are happy to provide you with detailed information on the flora, wildlife and rich heritage of the Loch Ness area so that you can get the most out of walking. Whether you prefer a few short walks or full days exploring, there is plenty to choose from.

Alternatively, you can let us “take the strain”, and choose from Graeme's range of Guided Walks such as Foyer's Circular, see below.

View of Loch Ness, Loch Ness bed & breakfast Foyers Circular: This is our most popular walk for those that have only a limited time in the area. It is a walk which gives guests a true flavour of what Loch Ness and in particular the south side, is all about – peace and tranquillity amidst stunning scenery. Starting from the forest track at the foot of out garden we meander up through mixed and varied woodland and across to Foyers, taking in panoramic viewpoints out over Loch Ness. At Foyers we visit the spectacular Falls of Foyers before heading back to the house via a path close to the shore of the loch. Walk duration 4-5 hours.

Car tours: We also offer a range of car tours for our guests so that they can appreciate the full beauty of Loch Ness and beyond into the Northern Highlands. Please see our example below:

Journey to the Edge: For those who want something just a bit different, a bit on the edge, this car tour is for you. From the shores of Loch Ness we head up in to the wilds of Sutherland to Tongue on the north coast. The landscape we pass through is harsh, barren and empty which gives it a truly unique beauty of its own. Huge mountains rise up from an almost lunar landscape as we drive along what is surely one of the loneliest roads in Scotland. From Tongue we head along the coast stopping at several of the beautiful golden sandy beaches of this area, before heading back to the house via desolate Loch Shin. A long day at 10 hours but well worth it.
travellers' tales
The accommodation was immaculate, spotlessly clean, every need was account for, including those nick knacks that may have been forgotten when packing to go on holiday. The location was perfect, Heaven on earth.  (more)

how this holiday makes a difference
Wildlife at Loch Ness bed & breakfastOur Loch Ness bed & breakfast has been awarded a GOLD standard, the highest award, in the Scottish Tourist Board’s approved Green Tourism Business Scheme for our efforts to minimise our impact on the environment. This includes implementing a variety of "green" measures to protect the environment and help create sustainable tourism.

Some of these “green” measures include the use of environmentally friendly cleaning products, A&B energy rated appliances and energy saving light bulbs in the Loch Ness B&B accommodation. We use recycled products wherever possible and recycle what we can.

Our garden has been left in its “wild” state to encourage birds and other animals. We regularly see bats flying in the fading evening light and red squirrels are frequent visitors to our bird feeder. The roe and sika deer come right down to our garden fence and if you are fortunate you might spot a badger or a pine martin.

Scenery at Loch Ness bed & breakfastThe Loch Ness bed & breakfast accommodation is set on the edge of Farigaig Forest with miles of waymarked trails for you to explore. Take a leisurely walk up to one of the viewpoints for magnificent views out over Loch Ness or go deeper into the forest and find the lovely little Lochan Tor an Tuill. Or amble down to the Loch shore and stand on the old pier where you can gaze up at Mealfuarvonie, and wonder at the magnificence of Loch Ness.

Your hosts, Graeme and Fiona Ambrose offer friendly first class service in a relaxed and homely atmosphere in a non smoking environment. As we are open all year guests can experience bright spring days, warm summer nights, the magnificent colours of autumn and the crisp clear days of winter.

There is so much to see and do in the beautiful unspoilt area around Loch Ness.

Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people.

We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel.

'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left).

We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays.

We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism.

This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards.
