description
Welcome to a unique place which combines nature and fun. We are Perry and Coline, an Irish and French couple who were previously circus artists and converted to tourism. Our hobbies are vintage vehicles and nature. In the last 25 years we have rebuilt the property throughout, creating a place with unique character, studios and rehearsal spaces. In the last few years we have created our dream with this unique campsite of Airstream caravans, the only one in Europe and are now very happy to work from home. The location faces the Pyrenees mountains offering fantastic views.

On our doorstep, there are kilometres of easy walks and mountain bike rides in wild surroundings with lakes, forests, and typical French villages. We are near Mirepoix a fabulous medieval town in the well known area of “Cathares”, a medieval fringe of Christianity that was wiped out by Rome and the Crusades in the 12th century. There are many medieval castles to visit (Montségur, Puivert, Roquefixade), prehistoric sites, and of course the local traditional and cultural events all year round. The area is famous too for its fine food and wines.

Here at the campsite, we organise special events around the theme of Airstream and vintage caravans twice a year. Occasionally we organise special nights with live acts at the “Apollo Lounge” bar/food during the high season.

Family friendly: We do have families ourselves, and provide games, fresh air, space and a healthy environment for children. In high season lots of people in the area provide activities including an adventure park, prehistoric park, bicycle or horse rides, kayaking.

Baby friendly: We have a cot and a potty for babies.
travellers' tales
Excellent. There is something quite magical about the site. Not sure if it is the caravans, the scenery, or Perry and Collene. Either way, we came away refreshed, and for the first time ever, we are really considering going back rather than continually finding new places to visit. (more)

how this holiday makes a difference
We have built our project respecting what is important to us: tranquillity, space, organic farming and protection of the environment.

The water is solar heated and we encourage people to sort their rubbish even when on holiday and introduce them to composting, which is very useful for our garden!

Our fields, campsite and garden are maintain in an organic way, and we sell local and organic produce on site.

The site itself, away from it all, provides tranquillity - the different pitches are separate, each over 100m˛, and with only 12 pitches, it is a small site which provides a comfortable feeling of not being crowded even when it’s full.

Plans for the future include:  Forest management (14ha) with the aim of  transforming it into an arboretum with many different varieties of trees and bamboos, and installing enough solar panels and wind generators to provide clean energy for us and hopefully the neighbours.

Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people.

We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel.

'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left).

We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays.

We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism.

This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards.
