The sunsets from the lodge were quite spectacular! It is a very peaceful and secluded place, somewhere I could certainly have stayed longer. (more)

how to find us
From Phnom Penh (the capital city of Cambodia), Ratanakiri province can be reached by air and overland transport (taxi, or a combination of bus to either Kratie or Stung Treng province and then taxi). Free pick up is available, provided we are informed in advance.

For those do-it-yourselfers, take a motorbike taxi from the Ban Lung town and head east on the national road 78 (road to Vietnam). After 4 km, you will arrive at a Yaklom Commune Center and a roundabout (hill tribe monument). The lodge is 2 km east on the same road.

We are able to arrange transport for leaving Ratanakiri (air, taxi, bike).
how this holiday makes a difference
The lodge’s self-imposed environmental and natural resource conservation is the main emphasis of our operation. The forest and trees in the lodge areas are well protected, and they provide good habitat for small wildlife animals, especially more than 30 species of birds.

We also recycle and reuse of materials wherever possible, reduce garbage quantity through the use of more permanent utensils, use renewable energy such as solar power and reduce water consumption.

Our excursion activities offered to guests contribute directly and indirectly to local communities visited. This includes direct contribution to community’s revolving fund (rice bank) in the participating villages, and other forms of income generation to the villagers (e.g. lodging fee for the host family, sales of handcraft, hiring village guide).

During the course of excursion, the lodge promotes better understanding/cultural exchange between guests and the host villagers. We believe that this can reduce the negative impact to local societies and raise awareness of both villagers and visitors.

Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people.

We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel.

'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left).

We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays.

We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism.

This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards.
