rooms, food and facilities
Staying in yurts in KyrgyzstanThe guesthouses are located throughout the country in cities and rural areas. You have a unique opportunity to stay with a family, or in separate houses, arranged in national or European style. The houses vary according to level of comfort, which is reflected in the price.  You will be able to make yourself comfortable on a warm, traditional felt carpet "shyrdak" or on a soft bed. Houses have hot/cold water, shower, bath-house and heating. For breakfast you will be served with a light national or European meal, fragrant bread, fresh jam or mountain honey, sour cream or airan (sour milk product).

Alternatively, you can experience the nomad's way of life and stay for several days in a round felt tent, called a "bozui", which accommodates approximately, 7-10 persons. These Yurts are mostly located in the jailoos – high-altitude summer pastures. You will be served with light national or European dishes, home made bread, jam or mountain honey, for breakfast.

'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left).

We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays.

We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism.

This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards.
