A riverside resort on the banks of Nila River, in a tranquil and serene environment, idyllic setting perfect for a natural and healthy lifestyle. Vast expanses of lustrous greenery in sylvan surroundings, our accommodation is unique and carries a distinctive concept in resort culture.
As the elements of nature are in balance, life is harmonious and flourishes here. The proximity of Kerala Kalamandalam, the university of cultural arts, facilitates guests to watch cultural shows at their comfort and convenience. In addition, artists from near village at our request come and perform traditional art forms, which gives ample financial benefits to the local community.

travellers' tales
The most enjoyable part of my holiday was the ayurvedic treatments that I had. The staff at the resort were also so nice, they couldn't do enough for you and always had a smile on their faces. (more)

how this holiday makes a difference
|
Regular employment is given to about 10 local people (in vegetable gardening, environment cleaning and waste management). Guests hire bicycles & the services of local people, and we provide guided tours to the nearby museum, cultural art centre and heritage enriched other sights. Local craftsmen sell their artworks, products and art form sculptures to our guests and receive financial benefits.
We follow strict adherence in providing organic food to our clients and cultivate grains, vegetables and fruits using organic practices for our own needs. Solar power is used to provide a significant part of our energy requirements. Gas is used for cooking and water, herbs and oil heating for treatment. We do have CFL lights for energy savings. Solar lanterns are used for garden lights. Waste is recycled to prepare compost for the plants and farming. We have rain harvesting big open tanks and ponds to collect rain water. We strive to provide maximum benefits to the local community and artists by promoting their highly enriched heritage on art forms that are unique in nature and need to be preserved. We facilitate interaction between the local people and the guests by taking them to the nearby public utilities such as library, sports clubs and places of worships. We have 2 orphanages nearby and twice yearly one day’s complete meal to them is provided by us. We also facilitate our guests to buy their artworks, paintings and handicrafts to help these children. |
Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people. We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel. 'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left). We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays. We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism. This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards. |
