description
Ventor Hotel, Isle of Wight
This picturesque Ventor hotel is settled at the foot of green St. Boniface Downs, looking out to sea. The hotel is south facing, so it enjoys long days of sunshine in the summer, while remaining a warm and cosy retreat in winter. Situated just outside of Ventnor town, guests are able to enjoy the relative quiet, while remaining conveniently close to local shops, services and the beach.
Once inside, the public rooms extend a warm welcome. The guests lounge is comfortable with books and magazines for those who wish to enjoy a quiet moment. The lounge bar is intimate and well stocked and the dining room looks out onto the conservatory and garden. It is here that our generous breakfast and five course evening meals are served carefully prepared with fresh ingredients and delivered oven-to table by our pleasant waiting staff. We also strive to cater for Vegetarians and those with certain dietary requirements such as diabetes.
Our private guest rooms are just as welcoming. Since this Ventnor hotel was completed about 1800, each of the 12 rooms are of a different size and character and we have tried to reflect this by decorating and furnishing each room individually. Every room is equipped with Fairtrade tea/coffee facilities and television, while less essential radios, shoe polish and alarm clocks etcetera are available upon request.
Responsible dog owners may keep their pets with them. Guests are most welcome throughout the year either for special weekend breaks or for longer, relaxing holidays on this beautiful Island.

Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people. We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel. 'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left). We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays. We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism. This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards. |
