Cornwall farmstay & B&B
Our organic farm is set in a peaceful hamlet on the beautiful north Cornish coast, a short distance from some idyllic beaches and coastal walks.
Character ensuite rooms are in a converted barn across the farmhouse courtyard, with independent access, giving you the freedom to come and go as you please.
A hearty breakfast using local and organic produce is served in the farmhouse dinning room with views of the countryside.
This is an ideal base from which to explore North Cornwall and North Devon. With its dramatic coastline, lovely beaches and wonderful cliff path walks. We have established a nature trail for guests to walk across farmland and down through our wooded valley.
The Seaside towns of Bude, Boscastle and the legendary Tintagel are all within easy reach. If you drive a few miles north there is Hartland with its spectacular cliffs, the quaint fishing village of Clovelly with its cobbled street and further on you can visit the port towns of Bideford and Appledore.
Beaches at Duckpool and Welcombe are a short distance away where you can walk along some beautiful coastline. Morwenstow Church and the National Trust Rectory tea rooms are worth a visit, you can take a stroll out to the cliffs and see Hawkers Hut where Reverend Hakwer the founder of Harvest Festival wrote his poems.
Less than an hours drive will take you to the ever popular Eden Project. The Worlds largest collection of plant life from around the world housed under 3 gigantic biospheres. A must for every visitor in the region.

|
We have farmed organically since 1999, and are registered with organic farmers and growers. In august 2005 we planted a wildflower meadow next to our ancient oak woodland, the butterflies love it! Since being organic we have noticed an increase in wildlife, hares skylarks and hawks are now a common site.
The bed and breakfast is run very much with the use of local produce, the bacon is cured by our local butcher who also makes the sausages, eggs from our own hens are delicious. We have some local pubs we recommend for evening meals who all use locally caught fish, local meats and vegetables. We support the local community by buying, not only food from the local butcher and farm shop, but we use the local electrical and furniture shops. We have regular fund raising dances in our barn and have raised money for Macmillan nurses, the shelter box charity and the local youth sports club. We always encourage guests to use local shops, tearooms, restaurants and pubs as well as to visit local attractions. In the guests rooms we offer fairtrade tea, coffee, chocolate and sugar. Towels are changed when guests request, therefore limiting unnecessary laundering. We always use ecover cleaning agents. Twice a month our plastic, paper, tin, cardboard and glass is collected for recycling. |
Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people. We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel. 'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left). We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays. We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism. This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards. |
