Sky lark and Barn owl are two self catering apartments based within the grounds of this accommodation, a complex of restored medieval buildings set around a large courtyard with a pond in the centre. Situated at the end of a threshing barn, the apartments are on three levels. Natural and local materials have been used throughout.

On the ground floor there is a kitchen and dining room, on the second floor a lounge and bathroom, the third floor is a balcony overlooking the lounge with a double bed. There is a futon in the lounge that can be used as a sofa or a bed. Bedding and towels are provided. There are pictures, plants and books plus a radio and television.

Maps and guides describe walks and tourist attractions. From the back door of the apartments you can walk out over the surrounding fields. There are art galleries, castles & gardens. River, forest, hill and mountain walks are all nearby. There is a welcome basket of organic food on arrival and a small organic shop on site.

We run Women’s Health and Food & Health courses throughout the year in the adjacent barn, read about our courses here.

Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people.

We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel.

'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left).

We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays.

We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism.

This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards.
