description
Guests enjoy our eco-hotel’s stunning location, comfortable bedrooms, great service, relaxing informality and mouth-watering organic food. It’s the perfect ‘get away from it all’ hotel. Converted from a windmill, the historic 12-bedroomed hotel is Grade II listed in parts and even includes the original windmill tower - climb its spiral staircase to enjoy spectacular views. The beach, coast path and centre of St. David’s are all just a short walk away. St. David’s is ideal for culture vultures, history buffs and outdoor enthusiasts alike, and stands right at the heart of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.
The Eco Hotel is Wales’s first organic hotel - certified organic through the Welsh Organic Scheme. Serving local and seasonal organic food, with vegetarian options, enables the hotel to protect the environment and animal welfare.
Don't expect mini-bars and plasma TVs. Instead, unwind in the lounge bar, sitting room or just enjoy some peace and quiet - immersing yourself in the hotel's relaxing atmosphere. Or go and explore the St David’s Peninsula, with its awe-inspiring landscapes and seascapes, and rich Celtic heritage.

how this holiday makes a difference
|
You'll enjoy a greener welcome when you stay at our eco-hotel. Whether the issue is climate change or factory farming, they’re helping to protect the planet and make the world a better place. The eco-hotel is Wales’s first organic hotel, certified through the Welsh Organic Scheme. Nearly all the hotel’s food and drink is organically produced. Local and seasonal organic produce is sourced whenever possible.
We run a Green Dragon Level 3 Environmental Management System and works to continually improve its environmental performance - carrying out new energy efficiency work, recycling new products whenever the opportunity arises, etc. We purchase ethically, and have an ethical purchasing policy. A few examples of its green purchasing are – the hotel uses green electricity from good energy, buys and supplies Ecover shower gels, washing up liquid and other cleaners, and buys local and seasonal organic produce whenever possible. We donate 1% of our income to environmental good causes, through 1% For The Planet, and we support local charities such as the RNLI and West Wales Eco Centre. In addition, we donate 5% of staff time to community projects and other good causes. |
Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people. We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel. 'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left). We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays. We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism. This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards. |
