Scottish Highlands holiday park
Wonderfully situated in the centre of Scotland, one mile south of Loch Earn in the Gateway to the Highlands, and in the heart of Rob Roy country. We are privileged to be within the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park - an area of outstanding natural beauty in historic Perthshire.

We have many species of flora and fauna on and around our site including red squirrels, deer, otters, pine martins, osprey and wild orchids.

Here at the Scottish Highlands holiday park, as well as accommodating touring caravans and tents, we offer a selection of quality self catering accommodation including modern holiday homes and log cabins. Short breaks are available throughout the year.

The dramatic landscape makes this area perfect for a break at any time of year, and increasingly customers are opting for a peaceful Autumn or Winter break. The area is steeped in history and myth. Rob Roy could not resist the area of Balquhidder and kept retuning to it and finally made the area his final resting place.

Sir Walter Scott - a frequent visitor to Perthshire - wrote the following: 'These beautiful and wild regions, comprehending so many lakes, rocks, sequester valleys, and dim copse woods, are not even quite abandoned by the fairies, who have resolutely maintained secure footing in a region so well suited for their residence.'

The Scottish Highlands holiday park is centrally located for Touring and sightseeing between Callender and Killin. We are only 80 minutes from Glasgow, Edinburgh and Perth. Golf, walking, water-sports, fishing and cycling are all available on our doorstep, as well as many of Scotland’s top tourist attractions.

They have modern bathrooms that have a large enclosed shower. The kitchen is fully equipped with a microwave, dishwasher and a full size cooker and includes DVD player. These units are 20'x28' in size.

Ideal for those wanting the added luxury of the extra space. It has a double room with an en-suite shower room, two twin rooms and large shower room. The size makes it ideal for larger families or even groups of walkers, cyclists etc.

Holiday homes (sleep 3-4): are 2 or 3 bedrooms. Delux models have full central heating.

Touring caravan & camping site. The utility block is fully heated and has toilets, showers, hand and hair-dryers. The new highly efficient boiler system ensures that hot water is always abundant. We pride ourselves on keeping this area spotlessly clean. There is also a laundry room with a washer and dryer, a dishwashing area and a public telephone with a trust library. We also have a chemical disposal point.

There is a small kids play area on the park, a laundry and a small farm shop selling local produce. A licensed restaurant is adjacent to the park and the Rob Roy Way Cycle Route 7. In the warmer months we have a Nature Trail and pigs, ducks and guinea fowl.

Family friendly: We have a small kids area and there are a number of attractions aimed at families close by the site.

how this holiday makes a difference
At the Scottish Highlands holiday park we take looking after the environment very seriously and we currently hold a gold (top level) green tourism business award for which we are thoroughly vetted. Yes, you may find the occasional weed on the park and the park retains a more rugged less manicured feel. We leave this way to encourage wildlife of all sizes to enjoy the land and retain the biodiversity of the local countryside. We are even careful about what goes into our reservoirs and streams – using only Ecover cleaning products throughout the Park. We want people to enjoy the lochs and rivers for years to come and want the fishermen to return to a place where there is an abundant supply of fish to survive.

We support the local economy by selling locally sourced products in our farm shop on-site. The venison, lamb, pork, eggs and honey are top sellers are come from within a 20 mile radius. Where possible we also sell organic and Fair Trade items. Even our log cabins and Teepee are built locally.

The local nursery school is conducting a woodland project on-site – this has been ongoing for 2 years now. We also help at the primary schools ‘Grounds Day’ – this year we supplied logging for woodland paths.

This year we have pledged to carbon offset the travel for customers to our self-catering units. We are calculating the mileage travelled and will offset with tree planting.

We are lucky to have Pine Martins on-site and have removed over 300 Leylandi and replaced with Native Trees to encourage them to flourish.

Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people.

We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel.

'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left).

We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays.

We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism.

This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards.
