A delightful farmhouse in the very heart of the Chianti area, between the beautiful city of Siena and the famous medieval fortress of Monteriggioni. This is a simple and genuine environment. Your hosts are committed to you having the most relaxing and interesting holiday possible. We are an organic farm and so we produce all of our own wine, olive oil, wheat, honey, fruits and vegetables.
We would like you to spend a lovely holiday here, whether you want to explore the surroundings and keep busy with lots of experiences and activities, or just unplug and relax and we will do our best to help you. It is a small farmhouse, so you'll always find lots of peace and quiet, as well as lots of attention to your needs.
We have both rooms and apartments, so as to offer you the arrangement that best suits you. The reception is open in the morning and the afternoon, to help and advise you in planning your day.
Our morning buffet is made up of sweets, biscuits, fruit cocktail, yogurt, fruit preserves and homemade "ciaccino" right out of the oven; the other meals are built around traditional Tuscan recipes, made especially tasty by our fresh garden produce, and almost always served with our own wine. During the day, besides lounging in our beautiful panoramic swimming pool and in our garden full of roses, fruit trees and aromatic herbs, you can set out from here for walks or bike rides among our vineyards.

Almost every day we organize fun things to do: we all fix home-made pasta or cookies together, we make soap and baskets and even terracotta pottery by hand. There's the chance to discover and learn to recognize aromatic plants, we have wine tasting and picnics in the woods, tractor rides on the farm. And then there are our fantastic hikes! We all set out together and while we're admiring the gorgeous countryside and breathing the fresh country air, we talk. Not only so we can learn about our history and traditions and the local flora and fauna, but also just to laugh and get to know each other. Nothing "scheduled", just spontaneous, however it happens from one time to the next. So please dont forget to put some funky clothes and comfortable walking shoes in your suitcase! rooms, food and facilities

By airport: The nearest airports are Firenze (60 km) and Pisa (100 km).
By car: Coming by car from the north - exit from the A1 at the "Firenze Certosa" exit and follow the directions indicating Siena. Exit the "Siena-Firenze" highway at the "Badesse" exit. Turn left, following the directions for Lornano. After passing the village, continue for approx. 3 km. and turn right at the first intersection (following the signs for "Quercegrossa"); continue until you find a dirt road on the right leading uphill. Coming by car from the south - exit from the A1 at the "Valdichiana" exit and follow the signs for Siena.

Our best vacations have usually been the ones we spent as guests of friends of ours, or at least when we had friends close by to give us a hand and let us know what there was to see and do, best of all when they came along and we enjoyed the evenings together. That's what we're aiming at here: a wonderful holiday no longer means luxurious furnishings or "sterile" service but valid tips, attention to our own particular needs, the chance to spend some quality time and to have the kind of genuine experiences that send us back on our way with great memories and a lighter spirit.
We use natural gas for the heating and we have solar panel for hot water. We use energy saving lamps, only have showers in our rooms and our toilets have a half-flush system. Rain water is collected for use in the garden, we change sheets and towels every 3 nights and use eco cleaning products Ecolabel. Our farm has been organic since 1992 and is located inside a natural reserve. All waste is recycled and separated here and put in the prepared containers in Quercegrossa. The waste from the pruning of plants we use for the fire in the houses or we cut and we use like fertilizer for the soil. We produce all of our own wine, olive oil, honey, wheat flour, vegetables, fruits, bread, yogurt, jams, pasta. All other ingredients for meals are purchased from our neighbourhoods or local shops. All of our staff are from the nearby village (3 km away). They are happy to explain everything about the surroundings, traditions, directions, activities and museum etc. We use only local services and always the same people: Roberto is the electrician (from Siena), Fabrizio is the hydraulic (from Quercegrossa) and Fabio is the handyman (from Quercegrossa). |
