  • how this holiday makes a difference
For two generations we have striven to operate in a manner that not only benefits the local community, but also protects the environment. This is achieved through supporting local restaurants, fish markets, vegetable markets and other businesses. Particular care is taken to purchase local produce when crafting complementary fruit baskets and guests are encouraged to explore the local community and the island as a whole.

Housekeeping policies strive to minimize the apartments’ impact on the environment through a variety of water and energy conservation initiatives. Management also employs practices such as reusing paper for non-official publications in order to reduce wastage. Guests are also encouraged to do their part by turning off lights and air conditioning units when not in use.

We recognise that it we have a responsibility to the island and its people to not only promote tourism, but also preserve its natural beauty for current and future generations. Management and staff continue to search for new initiatives to further its goals of benefiting the local community and environment.

As a small, family-run Vincentian business, we pride ourselves on being able to provide a one-on-one, personalised service. Being a second generation business, we have strong ties to the community, contributing to the economy of our island and employing locals as employees.

Guests are provided with local tourism magazines such as “Ins and Outs” and we promote nearby restaurants located in Calliaqua and Villa where guest can purchase meals and sample Vincentian cuisine. We also encourage guests to use public transportation as the apartments are located near a bus route. Unless the apartments are occupied, all appliances and lights are switched off to minimise energy consumption.

Guests are given the option to have their sheets laundered twice a week to minimise water and electricity consumption and all sheets and towels are line dried rather than using a dryer. Although we are self-contained apartments, complimentary gift baskets that are provided to guests to celebrate special occasions such as honeymoons are created using locally made baskets and feature local produce, sourced from vendors at the island’s market.

Our staff consists of two individuals, one of whom has been with us for over ten years. In addition to regularly employed staff, local craftsmen and electricians are used for incidental repairs and wherever possible, supplies are sourced locally as well. Paper is reused in the office for internal correspondence and printing is done only when absolutely necessary in order to reduce wastage.

Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people.

We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel.

'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left).

We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays.

We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism.

This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards.
