    how to find us
The nearest city and airport is Granada (1.5 hours), although Almeria (1.5 hours) and Malaga (2.5-3 hours) are also convenient. From the UK, Ryan Air and Easy Jet provide cheap flights to all these airports.

Cars can easily be booked on-line and most airlines offer special prices for car hire.

    From Granada airport:
Follow signs to Granada and then take the A-44, E902 sign posted to Motril. Drive for about 20 minutes until you see a sign for Lanjaron. Follow this road to Lanjaron (A-348) and continue until you reach Órgiva. Just before Órgiva, turn towards Trevélez and drive until you get to the village of Busquistar. Continue down this road until you get to Trevélez and then continue to Juvìles.

When at Juvíles, drive to the end of the main road and turn down beside the Jamón de Juvíles building. At that junction you will notice a sign post for the castle and cave -- continue along this road for 30m and take the left turn down onto a dirt track. Follow this track down until you see the stream turn right before the stream and continue until you pass a breeze block ruin and 100m later the car park is on the left.

    From Málaga airport:
Head towards Málaga and follow the motorway sign posted Granada, Sevilla, Motril and Almeria. Follow this motorway for a few miles until you see Motril and Almeria sign posted to the right and Sevilla and Granada straight on. You can go either way: Motril and Almeria will take you through coastal towns and Granada through the mountains. We recommend the coastal or Motril route, specially that a new Motorway just being opened in parts which makes the journey much quicker. If you go the coastal route drive until you get to Motril and then join the E902 highway towards Granada.

The new motorway just opened. This will take you to a roundabout which is sign posted Granada, Orgiva and Almeria. If you take the motorway then after 15 minutes drive you will see signs for Orgiva which you should take.

    From Almeria:
Take the coastal route to Motril and follow the instructions above from Motril. If you are driving within Spain then depending on where you are coming from you will have to go via Granada or Motril (see instructions above).

how this holiday makes a difference
    Environment
The accommodation is set in 3 hectares of protected wooded farm land. As part of our project we are slowly planting an even greater variety of trees and other plants. We use ecological toilets and our showers take their water from a solar system. We use ecological soaps & washing up liquid and recycle the grey water into our gardens.

    Community
The local community has little opportunity for employment and therefore we work with local guides, masseurs etc to offer their services to our clients. We also give details of locally run businesses to our clients to visit during their stay. In addition we run weekend workshops for the locals and our visitors.

Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people.

We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel.

'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left).

We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays.

We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism.

This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards.
