    Who are responsibletravel.com?
    responsibletravel.com is the world's leading travel agent for responsible holidays. We do not directly operate the holidays themselves, instead we collate some of the best holidays from tour operators and local accommodation owners across the world that adhere to our criteria for responsible tourism.     How do I get further details about a holiday?
    Request more information directly from the holiday operator by clicking the orange enquiry link at the top of each trip page. You'll then be presented with a simple form to send an email enquiry directly to the holiday operator who runs the holiday. They will get back to you with further details as soon as they can but in case you have an immediate query you'll automatically receive an email giving you their phone number and contact details (these details will also appear straight away on your screen after submitting your enquiry). You can then discuss your holiday and book it directly with them.

    How do I book my holiday?
    You book directly with the holiday operator. We do not act as an intermediate for the booking itself.

    How do I book flights?
    We cannot book flights for you. However you can search all the airlines at once for the best deal using our online search here and then book direct. If the trip is available with flights there will be a price including flights clearly displayed on the page.

    I don’t want to fly. How else can I get there?
    We fully encourage overland travel wherever possible. Each holiday should give details on how to get there under the section 'how to find us'. For further details on the nearest train station, coach station or ferry terminal you can contact the holiday provider directly. Alternatively you can use the excellent website www.seat61.com for general information on how to travel by train worldwide.

    Once you know where you need to go you can search and buy your tickets and passes for train journeys in the UK and Europe. Search and buy tickets/passes here

    How is my money protected? How can I trust the companies you work with?
    All holidays on responsibletravel.com provided by UK based tour operators are either formally bonded or operate a system of separate client accounts with external signatories, to provide you with financial security in the unlikely event that they should cease to trade.

    We do also market holidays from overseas tour companies. As the bonding regulations are different in each country we strongly encourage you to enquire about how your money is protected directly with the company you are booking with, or take out personal travel insurance that covers the failure of the holiday provider. When booking hotels & accommodation it is usual to pay after the completion of your stay.

    We screen each company or accommodation for their responsible travel credentials and once we feel that they meet our standards they become a member of responsibletravel.com and we promote them on our website. Find out more about The responsible travel criteria here

    I have not heard back from the company I have sent my enquiry to?
    You should expect a reply to your holiday enquiry within 48 hours; however some of the accommodations we work with are quite remote and may not have frequent/reliable internet access so they may take a little longer to get back to you.

    When you made your enquiry you should have received an automated email reply from us giving you the companies contact details should you wish to contact them direct. If you have not received the automated email from us then you may have originally given an incorrect email. If you believe this to be the case or would like us to chase your enquiry with the operator then please contact Jerrine on jerrine@responsibletravel.com

    Can I use the website if I do not live in the UK?
    If you are from outside the UK you can book any of the holidays on this site. You may need to source your own flights though. In many instances tour operators will have chosen to give the price of the tour in local currencies.

    Can I have a brochure?
    We do not have a brochure. We promote over 3000 holidays so I'm afraid that there are far too many to publish. The website itself can be used as an online brochure.

    If there was a particular trip you were interested in then you can request a brochure directly from that company by making an enquiry – select 'click here to make an enquiry or book' which is located at the top of the page of the trip you were interested in, then you can request a brochure by clicking in the 'post me a brochure' box. Please note that if they are a small company, or based overseas, they may not have a brochure, so please ensure that you enter in your email correctly so they have some means of contacting you with more information.

    Do you have gift vouchers?
    Yes, we can send you vouchers for between £20 and £3000. We also do a Gift List service where your friends and family can help send you on your way to your dream honeymoon or holiday. Find out more about vouchers and Gift Lists here

    How do I claim my booking gifts for booking with responsibletravel.com?
    If you have made a booking with a company that you have found via our website then we can send you our booking goodies as a thank you for using us. The goodies include automatic entry into our Win a Holiday competition and a Free Rough Guide or £10 cash. Find out how to claim here
