Western Australia competition
Have you ever experienced Western Australia?
If so, a signed print or book by award winning wildlife photographer Andy Rouse could be yours.
It might be Australia’s largest state but Western Australia is the most undiscovered. Many miss out on its 12,500km of pearly-white coastline, rugged outback and lush forests teaming with rare wildlife in their eagerness to tick off the more famous spots further east.
But if you want to see the real Australia, an extraordinary place of deep red dust, ancient rock formations , outback characters and warm waters that hold a world of wonder, its simple – Go West.
In November we will be producing our own guide to the best places to stay, where to visit and the best wildlife watching - from the awesome whale sharks, the largest fish in the world to the pint-sized marsupials, the Quokkas. But it’s not just about us; we want to hear what you’ve discovered in the Wild West. Perhaps you’ve sailed the Swan River in Perth, trekked through the beehive-like formations of the Bungle Bungles with the help of an Aboriginal guide or explored the boutique wineries of Margaret River. Whatever you have been up to, we want to hear about your experiences in Western Australia!
Add your tips and insider knowledge or upload your favourite snaps to our community at IKnowAGreatPlace.com and the best entry will win a signed print of their choice from world renowned wildlife photographer Andy Rouse, who had his first taste of Australia earlier this year. Read his tips on visiting Western Australia’s Ningaloo Reef. The runner up will win a signed copy of Andy’s Living Landscapes book.Andy Rouse has long since had a passion for wild things. He has captured some of the most exciting and evocative photographic images of wildlife found today, with a raft of BBC wildlife photography awards to prove it.
With a style all of his own, Andy is equally passionate about the message that his images convey and sees his work as contributing to the general appreciation of our precious wildlife, hopefully stimulating us all to act on their behalf. If you aren’t one of the lucky winners, you can still admire Andy’s photography at one of his 10th anniversary talks being held around the country. The talks, which start at the prestigious Royal Geographic Society in London on 30th September, will be packed with his favourite images from the last 10 years, inspirational anecdotes and his latest photos from project work in Australia and Svalbard.
