We were the first business in the world to use the term responsible travel. We actively play our part in the responsible tourism movement that aims to re-invent tourism for the long term benefit of tourists, local people, the environment and the tourism industry. In addition to campaigning for change we celebrate the best of the best responsible tourism initiatives via our Awards – The Virgin Holidays Responsible Tourism Awards.
How we screen the holidays. We do not claim to have addressed every single issue relating to responsible travel, as these are both complex and variable in each destination. Rather, we have created a way for the industry and tourists to work openly together to improve tourism for travellers and local communities.
