the amazing things you'll be doing
Over recent years we have been asked for guided trips and, in response, we have researched many guided operations in Namibia. Finally, we have found two top-notch operators with whom we are happy.

Our guided trips are a far cry from large group tours. There are no minibuses, no large groups, and absolutely no timetables requiring you to move between endless different places every day. The lodges are small, the camps remote, and the rest camps are old favourites. When camping you can expect top-notch food and immaculate tents in beautiful locations. The vehicles are specially modified Land Rovers, with back-up vehicles when necessary.

However, the most important element of these trips is the guides. A good guide makes all the difference - so we choose guides whom we know personally, and are amongst the very best in Namibia. Because of the inherent costs of the top professional guides on these trips, they're not cheap. Guided trips like these will never be as economical as self-drive trips. However, if you want to travel in a small group, with a superbly knowledgeable guide, then these trips offer unbeatable value for money.

After the great success of last year's trips, we've organised two Klipspringer and three Black Rhino trips. These scheduled guided itineraries are exclusive to us. They have fixed itineraries - although the fine details of each day will always depend on the interests of our travellers.

tailor made holiday
This trip can be tailormade to create a unique holiday for your individual requirements by travel experts with intimate knowledge of the destination. It is a more luxurious trip that will suit those who enjoy immersing themselves in new cultures and environments before relaxing in comfort in some of the best and most characterful local accommodation! Quality and value are the hallmark of these trips.
how this holiday makes a difference
Your guides on this trip are local Namibians, they will give you an unparalleled insight into local cultures and environments in a sensitive and responsible way. We make use of government owned rest camps and small locally owned accomodation - some of them are involved in conservation and support local communities.

For example, Etendeka Mountain Camp is one of three remaining government concessions on communal land and offers an exclusive, low-impact nature experience. In 1994, a joint exercise between Integrated Rural Development & Nature Conservation (IRDNC) and Etendeka Mountain Camp was initiated to obtain insight into the tourism awareness of the surrounding communities and to investigate how financial revenue from tourism might be used by the various households.

Etendeka voluntarily offered to pay a bed night levy of N$ 10 per person/night to five communities identified as utilising the same resource base - covering an area up to 200km north: Sesfontein,Khowarib, Warmquelle, Omuramba and Otjikowares. Each community received approximately N$ 8000.

Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people.

We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel.

'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left).

We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays.

We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism.

This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards.
