day-by-day itinerary
| Day 1-2: | Istanbul. Discover Turkish culture as we visit the exquisite Blue Mosque, the ancient Hippodrome and the sensory delights of the Spice Bazaar. |
| Day 3-4: | Cappadocia. Lose yourself in an underground city and learn how to make a Turkish rug. We also experience some traditional hospitality, staying overnight with local villagers. |
| Day 5-6: | Nemrut Dagi. After spending the night in a simple mountain hotel, rise early for sunrise over the stone heads of Nemrut Dagi. |
| Day 7-8: | Silifke. Untouched Silifke is home to a multitude of sights, including the crusader castle of Kizkalesi, which appears to float on the Mediterranean Sea. It's also a great place for local seafood. |
| Day 9-10: | Antalya. Set against the pine-clad Taurus Mountains, beautiful Antalya awaits. Wander through historic houses in Kaleici, the old city, and be sure to check out the archaeological museum. |
| Day 11-12: | Kas. Spend a day sea kayaking over a sunken Lycian city, or take a dip in the Mediterranean from a private beach. |
| Day 13-14: | Fethiye. Enjoy a cruise around the glorious Twelve Islands or take a dolmus to the village of Oludeniz and the stunning Blue Lagoon. |
| Day 15: | Pamukkale. The chalky terraces of Pamukkale and the hot springs of Heiropolis make for a fascinating day. |
| Day 16-17: | Selcuk. Sense what life might have been like in ancient times on a visit to the Roman city of Ephesus. |
| Day 18-19: | Canakkale. From our base in seaside Canakkale, there is the option to visit the moving memorials of Gallipoli and the ancient city of Troy. |
| Day 20-21: | Istanbul. Reflect on your trip by unwinding like a local: watch the ferries glide across the Bosphorus while enjoying a fresh fish roll. |

how this holiday makes a difference
|
On this trip you are joined by a leader along the way who is always eager to share information about the country and culture in which they live. They will help you break down barriers in your interactions with local people and will assist you in learning as much as possible about the many cultural differences throughout Turkey.
During your journey through this amazing and diverse country, there are numerous opportunities for local interaction as we cover so much ground using all means of public transport. You’ll be surprised how much you can learn from a friendly local who strikes up a conversation on a bus, ferry or dolmus. In Istanbul, you will have the opportunity to visit the Bakirkoy Orphanage. We encourage our travellers to donate any unwanted items and we organise a small shopping trip prior to the visit to buy useful items such as notebooks, pencils and clothing. |
Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people. We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel. 'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left). We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays. We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism. This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards. |
