the amazing things you'll be doing
Day mountain biking tours
We will take you to some of the finest and most spectacular places you can imagine in the World Heritage listed Parks and Rainforests of Byron Bay's hinterland. With panoramic views from rocky volcanic plateaus and massifs, our tours offer "maximum access with minimum impact" to lakes, waterfalls, deep gorges and lush sub-tropical rainforests teeming with wildlife.

Biking in the rainforest, NSW mountain biking toursYou will learn about pioneering postal routes and early logging tracks and trails and see a number of animal species such as small marsupials, koalas, fruit doves and tree frogs.

Our tours are refreshing, adventurous, exhilarating and fully guided and supported, including all transport costs, park entrance fees, lunch, snacks, soft drinks, quality Cannondale mountain bikes and bike helmets. You will have your own experienced local tour guides trained in mechanical skills and travel in a small group allowing you to take in the experience.

Tours run daily 9am to 5pm with pickups at Byron Bay town centre & Bangalow. We also run tailormade tours by special arrangement, please contact us for details.

how this holiday makes a difference
Your ride fee will help to regenerate the world heritage listed and protected forests with our donation program through Rainforest Rescue.

Our philosophy is to offer you a high quality, sustainable eco-tour on bicycles. The tours are based directly upon our own personal experiences of spending time over the last few years, in the NSW Rainforests on our mountain bikes. We wish to share with you this "local knowledge" seeing and feeling the bio-diversity in the delicate environment. The natural attractions of the World Heritage properties are environmental and cultural icons. They are special places, where "treading lightly" is encouraged and your co-operation in the preservation of these areas, is appreciated.

Spectacular scenery, NSW mountain biking toursWe use supplies from local producers and business and employ local people and all our tours operate through the National Parks and wildlife strict tour operators program. We are very aware about the impact of our operation on the environment and bike on established fire trails and off-road trails or single-track only if it is sustainable managed.

We never ride in off-limits areas such as designated walking tracks etc., all tours have a strict no-rubbish policy and we also encourage guides and passengers to pick up what others have left behind. We have small groups to maximise enjoyment and impact.

Our tours encourage acknowledgement of local aboriginal bungalung people and respect to the privacy of the local communities that we visit, and recommend a sensible approach to cultural differences. We only visit indigenous or local communities that openly welcome tourists and where trained local guides accompany the group at all times.

Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people.

We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel.

'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left).

We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays.

We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism.

This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards.
