the amazing things you'll be doing
Our 6 day self-supported seakayak trip combines adventure, freedom and challenge in the remote and beautiful setting of the Northern Patagonian Fjords. Southwards from Puerto Montt, Chile breaks up into countless islands, with deep fjords where the sea touches the Andes.

Cutting deeply into the granite peaks of the coastal Andes, the Quintupeu, Cahuelmo and Comau Fjords provide the most spectacular and accesible paddling experience in Northern Patagonia. Our expert local guides will paddle with you into this fabulous area.

We paddle through unforgettable surroundings, surrounded by verdant forests of giant native trees, cascading waterfalls plunging directly into the fjords, mountains cliffs soaring out of the dark waters to touch the sky, fumaroles and natural hot springs (very relaxing at the end of a long day padling), settlers and their histories, hidden lagoons, birds, dolphins, sea lions and also we have the opportunity to walk some remote hiking trails.

No previous sea kayaking experience is necessary as we hold a comprehensive trip briefing and practice session covering rescue and paddling techniques you'll need to know to allow you to feel totally safe and comfortable during the trip.

how this holiday makes a difference
Our small group size - maximum of 6 - ensures this is a low impact trip. The trip is self-supported - no vehicles are used. We use locally produced fresh produce as much as possible and always in preference choose local over imported goods. We pack out all waste and minimize this by using products with minimum packaging, leaving no litter and keeping all water sources clean, leaving camp-sites cleaner than we find them.

When out on tour we encourage learning about Chile, the local culture of the teams we work with and the areas we pass through. Our guides hold informal talks with groups to inform about and discuss with them all aspects of local life. This helps understanding of the area and appreciation of the people who live there. We will meet quite a number of local people.

Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people.

We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel.

'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left).

We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays.

We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism.

This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards.
