the amazing things you'll be doing
On our self-guided walking holidays, we arrange all accommodation (using carefully selected small hotels & guest houses), luggage transfer and supply you with detailed route notes and maps. We can also arrange travel and local guides if required. Let the experts arrange your adventure, leaving you to sit back and enjoy it!

The West Highland Way
From £495 (8 days) - April to September only
Scotland's most famous trek and justifiably so. Starting in Glasgow, the route winds its way north through spectacular mountain scenery to finish at Fort William at the foot of Ben Nevis, Britain's highest mountain. Many people climb it the next day to celebrate!
Grade: Moderate: 93 miles and 7 days of superb hiking.

The Great Glen Way
From £445 (7 days) - April to September only
This picturesque trail follows the banks of three great lochs – Oich, Lochy & Ness – as it crosses the Highlands from Fort William to Inverness. It can also be combined with the West Highland Way to create a 2 week long trekking epic!
Grade: Easy/Moderate: 71 miles and 6 days of rewarding trekking.

Self-Guided Wilderness Walks
From £199 (4 days) - all year round
Staying in the same small hotel or guest house throughout your trip, discover the classic walks and some hidden delights of one corner of Scotland, using detailed route notes prepared by our head guide. Destinations include some of the finest wilderness areas in Scotland including Cape Wrath, Skye, the Cairngorms and the Ben Nevis/Glencoe area. You will enjoy both the rugged beauty of the wilderness and also the welcome comforts and hospitality of small, locally-owned 3 & 4-star small hotels on these superb trips.
highly commended
This tourism business was Highly Commended in our 2006 First Choice Responsible Tourism Awards the largest awards of their kind in the world, and organised by responsibletravel.com in association with The Times, World Travel Market and Geographical Magazine, of the Royal Geographical Society.

Since 2004, the Awards has recognised individuals, companies and organisations in travel making a big commitment to the culture and economies of local communities and helping to conserve biodiversity.
how this holiday makes a difference
Despite its beauty, the Highlands and Islands is one of the least affluent regions of Scotland. By bringing the benefits of tourism to this area and using local services and produce, we help to support local businesses, create employment and contribute to the overall sustainable development of the region.

Both the Great Glen Way & the West Highland Way can be undertaken using trains to and from the start and finish points, making this an low-impact and sustainable journey.

Although the Self-Guided Wilderness Walks require the use of a car, we offset by 110% all carbon emissions generated by the company including those arising from all forms of transportation, office practices and trip operations (including client transportation). We are also in the process of developing some itineraries which can be undertaken without a car.

Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people.

We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel.

'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left).

We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays.

We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism.

This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards.
