the amazing things you'll be doing
Explore the most famous national parks and reserves in Kenya - Samburu, Lake Nakuru and the Masai Mara.

Samburu in the arid north of the country has its own unique wildlife, very different to lake Nakuru or the vast herds and lush green plains of the Masai Mara to the south. The Masai Mara takes half its name from the Mara river, the remainder from the proud Masai tribespeople who still wander through this remote region alongside the Big Five - lion, leopard, buffalo, elephant and rhino? This tour is an unforgettable experience.

Price includes accommodation (camping - 6 nights, hotel - 1 night), some meals, transport.
day-by-day itinerary
Day 1:Nairobi. The adventure begins in Nairobi, Kenya's thriving capital and one of East Africa's largest cities.
Day 2-3:Samburu. Travel past Kikuyu villages and along the slopes of Mt Kenya to Samburu National Reserve. This region is home to a fascinating mix of Kenya's nomadic tribes who retain their traditional way of life. Head deep into the park to spot giraffes, zebras, gerenuk and oryx. For an insight into the life of the Samburu people, take an informative tour of a local village.
Day 4:Lake Nakuru. Travel through the fantastic scenery of the Great Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru National Park. The lake often hosts enormous flocks of flamingos and the park itself boasts giraffes and zebras.
Day 5:Lake Naivasha. Travel to one of the most beautiful of the Rift Valley Lakes, Lake Naivasha. Chill out by the water's edge and spot a huge variety of birds. There is an option to explore the lake by boat and hippos are often seen wallowing by the shore.
Day 6:Masai Mara. Travel again through the Great Rift Valley and enter Kenya's finest wildlife area, the Masai Mara. Take a safari out through the reserve to see lions, gazelles, elephants, cheetahs and zebras. In the evenings, swap stories and compare wildlife photos around the campfire. There is an option to meet the Masai who call this region home, on a visit to a local village.
Day 7:Nairobi. A final journey through the Rift Valley brings us to Nairobi, where our journey ends.
small group adventure holiday
Typically you will be sharing your experiences with between 4-20 like minded travellers (depending on the trip, operator and how many others are booked on the trip) and you'll have a group leader with you. Whether you are travelling alone or with friends its good value, and a great way to meet new people! While itineraries are pre-planned there is some flexibility and you'll have plenty of privacy. This trip will appeal to travellers of all ages who enjoy meeting new people as well as seeing new places.
how this holiday makes a difference
In 1990 we formed our Kenya company, based in Nairobi. It is now an established tour operator, offering a wide range of trips in East Africa. It is our policy to employ locally and the company is now staffed and managed by a proven team of Kenyans. This is now run 100% by local people, and is 50% owned by Kenyans, there are no ex patriates involved. We also employs African crews on all the trips; all of our leaders are now African as are trainees and cooks. All our holiday staff are employed locally, and the tour leaders have passed the 'Kenya Professional Safari Guides Association' exams which cover the do's and don't when game driving on your tour.

Through various projects we raise considerable sums for local charities including the Amani Children's Home in Moshi (Tanzania). When not working for us, we often send our safari trucks out on safari with local school kids to give them a taste of their own country in the national parks that are often too expensive for locals to visit. We have always felt that Africans are better placed to show you Africa than we are! It is our policy to employ local guides for the duration of your trip. We purchase food locally so that money is well distributed with the regions we visit.

For every passenger trip week that we operate in Africa, we plant a tree in Kenya through our support of the Woodlands 2000 trust, a local NGO. We also offer you a chance to climate balance your international flights by making a payment to C-Level, who in turn finance certified reforestation projects in Uganda. We already carbon compensate our office activities through C-Level, working with them to audit, then minimise waste, and finally to carbon compensate for the energy we do use.

Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people.

We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel.

'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left).

We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays.

We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism.

This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards.
