introduction to Nepal rafting & trekking holiday
Searching for Bengal Tiger, trekking in the foothills of the Annapurna, visiting the birthplace of Lord Buddha and seeing the timeless medieval town of Tansen. This tour takes you on a journey to experience a mixture of cultural and natural sanctuaries of Nepal.
Highlights include:Annapurnas and Machhapuchhre White water rafting and 2 day trek Swayumbhu, Durbar Square, Tansen and Buddha’s Birthplace Rhino, crocodile, elephant and monkeys
This is truly an adventure trip taking you off the beaten track and discovering some of the less visited areas of Nepal and therefore more authentic culture is retained. We start in Kathmandu to see some of the most holy Hindu and Buddhist sights before leaving the Kathmandu Valley and heading towards the West. The trip also combines an opportunity to get the adrenaline running as we raft on the Trishuli River.
After this aquatic excursion we drive to Pokhara, the second city of Nepal for splendid mountain views whilst trekking for two days in the foothills of the Annapurna range of the Himalaya; before arriving at Tansen – a remote and less visited ancient hill town. Our second cultural destination takes us to Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha where we visit the pilgrimage sites and take a walk in the Sarus Crane sanctuary where we can also spot blue bull or Nilgai as they are known locally.
Finally, we arrive in Bardia National Park, home to the Royal Bengal Tiger, and one horned Rhino amongst many other birds and mammals. Here we spend three days enjoying jungle activities before taking a spectacular flight along the Himalaya ranges back to Kathmandu. The trip also allows you to experience a wide range of Nepali accommodation, from a Palace Hotel, to River Camps, mountain and safari Lodges.
We believe our exclusive itinerary offers you an unforgettable off the beaten track experience in Nepal.
You can depend on our experience and professional expertise. Our directors have a combination of travel industry, charity and global corporate backgrounds. We are able to combine these skills to create a highly professional and experienced team.
Equally, we take our responsibilities seriously when looking after you in the mountains. The trekking staff have all been working in the industry for between 7 to 15+ years. Our group leaders attend professional training for Mountain Leadership and Mountain Safety & first aid training provided by KEEP (Kathmandu Environmental Education Project). The assistant Sherpa staff receive training in English language and eco-trekking.
Price details: Included are carbon balancing, 5 nights city B&B, 1 night river camp, 1 night mountain lodge, 2 nights guesthouse, 4 nights safari resort full board, guided sightseeing, transport and entrance fees in Kathmandu, Tansen, Lumbini and Bardia National Park as specified in the itinerary, transport, National Park entrance fees and charity donation. how this holiday makes a difference
|
All our holidays have the same core 5 values:
In addition, on all our trekking holidays free filtered water is provided to customers to ensure minimal environmental impact of use of firewood to boil water or plastic bottles which can not be re-cycled. We issue all clients with a rubbish bag - all waste items are collected in the bag and removed from the mountains so that they can be disposed of safely and responsibly. Where there is a choice we will only use teahouses that use renewable energy fuel stoves and water heating systems such as biogas and solar energy. This holiday takes you to off the beaten track locations and thereby generates much needed econmy to those who are less well off. Our group leaders attend professional training for Mountain Leadership and Mountain Safety & first aid training provided by KEEP (Kathmandu Environmental Education Project is a registered non-governmental organisation, working to support sustainable tourism in Nepal). We pride ourselves on paying wages higher than commercial organisations and limit the loads that our porter staffs carry. Equally the assistant Sherpa staff receive training in English language and eco-trekking. |
Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people. We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel. 'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left). We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays. We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism. This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards. |
