introduction to Thailand wildlife & beach holiday

This exciting program has been specially created for people who love nature and wildlife, but who also like to relax on the beach and want to have a very comfortable holiday.

Highlights during the trip are gibbon, langur, wild elephant, butterfly and bird watching, relaxing at gorgeous beaches and optional adventure activities like elephant riding and bamboo rafting. We will also spend some time on the Thai culture during this tour. We stay in comfortable hotels in Bangkok and along the coast, which have hot water, air-conditioning and cable television. In the National Parks, you will stay at nature resorts and lodges, which all have private bathroom and shower. During the entire trip, you will be accompanied by a professional English-speaking guide and in the national parks, park rangers will look after us and share their fascinating knowledge about the area and the ecosystem.

Day 2:Bangkok. After breakfast we will visit the Grand Palace which is one of Bangkok's most famous attractions. In the afternoon we will visit the ancient city just outside Bangkok. Here you will find numerous reproductions of palace halls, temples, stupas, stone sanctuaries and traditional houses from all regions of the country. We will return to the hotel at the end of the afternoon.
Day 3:Khao Yai National Park. In the morning we depart to Khao Yai National Park. On the way to the park, we have lunch and will visit the Haew Narok waterfall. When we arrive at the park, we will take you to the visitor's centre where information is available about Khao Yai's nature and wildlife. In the afternoon we will trek along the Nong Phakchi nature trail searching for gibbons and other wildlife, and looking for footprints of other big wild animals as well as enjoying the beautiful scenery and views that the area has to offer. After the trek along the trail, we will head back for dinner and have some time to relax at our nature lodge. Around 7.00 o'clock in the evening, we will open the world of nocturnal wildlife with a short night safari.

Day 8:Kui Buri - Chumpon. Wake early and head towards the wild elephants monitoring area again. We will wait for the elephants to come for feeding and with a little bit of luck we can also see some other wildlife. Head back for breakfast followed by a walk along a nature trail to a natural salt lick. During this walk, we can see many animal footprints and have the opportunity to study the parks ecosystem. Afterwards, we will leave Kui Buri and head towards Chumpon where we will arrive early in the afternoon. You have a superb beach in front of your hotel with clean ocean water to swim in. The evening is free.

Day 10:Khao Sok. After breakfast we will leave Chumpon and head towards the beautiful National park Khao Sok arriving around midday. In this tropical rainforest, of which there are only a few in Thailand, you have the choice of many activities. The park has many trails for trekking through the dense forest, you can visit waterfalls, row a boat around a big lake, go bamboo rafting or canoeing, or spend some time trekking through the forest on the back of an elephant. Your nature resort is near the park and has great views.

You have the freedom to set your own program and if you would like to go hiking in the rainforest, our professional guide will be pleased to accompany you. The forest has many different species of flora and fauna. The tropical raffesia is the most special of the flowers as it is the largest one in the world (70-120cm). traveller reviews for Thailand wildlife & beach holiday

The Koh Sok National Park trip with the kayaking company was truly amazing. Climbed a waterfall, saw a wild baby elephant and heard the singing gibbons. Lived like the locals and ate plenty of wholesome Thai food. No frills but no illnesses either! (more)
how this holiday makes a difference
We try to ensure that all our trips not only minimise the negative effects of tourism but actually have a positive impact on the communities who welcome us into their villages and often their homes. Using local guides, local transport and local accommodation and paying fair wages, ensures that not only do our clients gain a unique insight into the culture they are visiting but also that as much of their money as possible stays in the local community.

Wherever possible we also contribute to community projects (helping to preserve traditional ways of life, providing education and supporting environmental initiatives) and encourage our clients to visit or even lend a helping hand. Running this trip as a small group or tailor-made and using local guides who help our clients to understand and respect the cultural differences means that our clients are often treated as welcomed guests rather than intruding foreigners. We travel at a leisurely pace to allow you the time to fully appreciate the charm of this fascinating country.

Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people.

We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel.

'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left).

We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays.

We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism.

This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards.
