the amazing things you'll be doing
Lovers of the sea enjoy a week of island-hopping off the coast of Belize! The world's second largest barrier reef is dotted with tiny cayes forming the ultimate sea- kayaking playground. Our trip combines just the right amount of time for kayaking, snorkelling and relaxing in the crystal clear blue waters of Belize.

Our local crew, support boat and one- and two-person kayaks are sure to make even the most inexperienced paddler an expert in no time! Join us as we paddle and snorkel through this tropical paradise.
day-by-day itinerary
Day 1:Arrive Belize City. Arrive in Belize City at any time.
Day 2:Placencia. Wander this unspoiled fishing village and enjoy its golden beach. Don't forget to sample the seafood.
Day 3-6:Island Hopping (4B,4L,4D). Travel by motorboat to begin our sea kayaking adventure. Exact starting point and route vary depending on local conditions as we spend the next 4 days kayaking between islands with possible stops in a variety of cayes near the Gladden Split Marine Reserve. Paddle for approximately 2 to 4 hours per day, with plenty of time for relaxation and other activities. At night, we camp under the stars.
Day 7:Placencia. After a morning paddle or snorkel, return to the mainland town of Placencia. Enjoy a last night on the town with your fellow kayakers as you get your land legs back.
Day 8:Depart Belize City.

how this holiday makes a difference
We ensure minimal social and environmental impact in the places we visit by travelling in small groups (max 12), using local transportation, kayaking, camping and staying in locally-owned accommodation. We also work with experienced local guides who are knowledgeable of Belize’s culture, history, flora and fauna.

We encourage our travellers to act responsibly while visiting marine environments and educate them by including information in our Dossiers about the importance of coral reefs and provide useful tips about how to act responsibly while visiting these fragile marine environments.

Through our non-profit organization, the Planeterra Foundation, we support the Cornerstone Foundation, a local NGO that offers social, educational and environmental programs in San Ignacio, Belize. Donations to this project support their literacy programs, developed to education illiterate and non-English speaking Belizeans. Time permitting, travellers may ask their tour leader to organize an optional visit to this project.

Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people.

We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel.

'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left).

We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays.

We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism.

This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards.
