the amazing things you'll be doing
From the stunning vistas of the Turquoise Coast to the traditional villages of the mountainous interior, this holiday explores some of Turkey’s most seductive land and sea scapes.

Our activity programme is designed to ensure that you see the absolute best of the region. Discover the islands and inlets by boat or kayak or walk and cycle through remote highland terrain where women in black shawls herd their goats.

The town of Kas has escaped the development seen in larger resorts along the coast and delivers a genuine taste of Turkey.

Accommodation: Cosmopolitan Kas (pronounced 'cash') is a lovely Turkish town which has escaped the mass tourism development further along the coast. With stunning views, a wide selection of bars and restaurants (famous for vegetarian cuisine) and numerous boutiques and bazaars selling everything from clothes to turkish delight, you will find plenty to do during your stay. We offer a choice of two 3-star hotels in Kas.

The Hotel Aqua Princess is situated about 10 minutes walk from the town centre with a seafront location that offers stunning views of the Mediterranean. All the bedrooms have balconies, en-suite facilities and air conditioning. The hotel has a swimming pool overlooking the sea providing the perfect place to cool down and relax after an active day.

The Hotel Ekici is 150 metres from the seafront and just a few minutes walk from the town centre. The pool is set within an enclosed garden making it ideal for families with younger children. The air-conditioned rooms offer en-suite facilities and a balcony for relaxing after a day in the Mediterranean sun.
day-by-day itinerary
Day 1:Flights, arrival and introduction. We will be met at Dalaman Airport for the transfer to our accommodation in Kas where we meet our guides.
Day 2:Lazy boat day. Our lazy boat day is the ideal way to unwind. We board the boat at Kas and spend the day exploring islands and bays with swimming, snorkelling, sunbathing, relaxation and lunch thrown in for good measure. In the evening there will be a welcome dinner in a seafront restaurant.
Day 3:Sea kayaking. The trendiest mode of transport in the Mediterranean - sea kayaks help us to reach one of Turkey’s most famous sites, the sunken city of Kekova. We also stop for lunch in the village of Simena which is inaccessible by road and boasts a medieval hilltop castle.
Day 4:Picnic hike. Our trek starts in the mountains behind Kas and follows the paths and forest tracks of Mount Akdag. After a picnic lunch we cross a highland pasture which offers wonderful views all the way to the coast before rejoining our vehicle.
Day 5:Free day. Today is free for you to try additional activities such as scuba diving, horse riding or paragliding. Alternatively you can just relax by the sea - the choice is yours.
Day 6:Mountain biking. A full day of guided cycling with our support vehicle always close behind. Great views, exhilarating descents, and a variety of tracks which pass through cool forests and wide open meadows make this an excellent day.
Day 7:Tubing at Saklikent Gorge. A rushing river and towering cliffs characterise this stunning 16km long gorge. After exploring on foot we jump on our tubes to spin and twist downstream steering through the shallow meandering waters of the Karacay River. We also stop for a therapeutic (honest) mud bath/fight! There will be a farewell dinner in the evening.
Day 8:Depart or extend your stay. Today you will be transferred back to Dalaman or you can take advantage of our week long extension.
travellers' tales
For me, the highlight was sea kayaking, in 3 stretches, out to and around a nearby island visiting a sunken city and a Crusader castle. But, the real magic lies in the constant surprises and delights we enjoyed as passing ephemerals  (more)
how this holiday makes a difference
This family activity holiday is based in the Turkish Mediterranean harbour town of Kas. Our contribution to the local community and economy, as well as our efforts to minimise the environmental impact of tourism in Kas and its surrounding area, takes many forms.

We work only with hotels which are either locally owned or employ members of the local community as key members of staff. Picnic supplies are purchased either from local suppliers or direct from local villagers themselves and lunches on activity days are taken at the homes of local villagers when possible who convert their patios into cafes.

When visiting villages we endeavour to arrive by foot and encourage interaction between our groups and the local community to allow each to develop cultural understanding. When motorised transport or transfers are required we use local drivers, often in owner operated vehicles, which brings work to people who may otherwise be under-employed in the community.

For activities motorised transport is kept to a minimum and the activities themselves use equipment which does not impact on the environment e.g. kayaks, rafts and cycles. We actively encourage the purchase of all activity equipment locally where possible provided it complies rigorously with expected standards of quality and safety. Production and disposal of plastic waste is also reduced by dispensing drinking water from re-usable large volume containers.

Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people.

We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel.

'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left).

We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've lead the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays.

We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism.

This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards.
