the amazing things you'll be doing
Vietnam is perfectly suited for a family adventure. There are few countries where children (of all ages) relate so spontaneously and where lasting friendships are formed on a daily basis. Activity and variety are the keys to the success of this adventure.
We spend our days wandering the markets of Ho Chi Minh City, cruising the remoter islands of the Mekong Delta, exploring the former seaport of Hoi An, undertaking a short trek to the northern hill tribe villages and taking time out along the endless stretch of beaches off Halong Bay. With such a multitude of experiences - and the inevitable delays to your schedule to visit local schools and homes - the younger members of your family will need an extra week to complete their diaries and projects before returning home.

small group family holiday
This is a 'small group family adventure' - typically you will join several other families and travel in a group of approx. 16 people. The trips are great value and a great way for you and your children to meet new people! While itineraries are pre-planned there is some flexibility and you'll have plenty of time to yourselves. Most adventure kids tend to be aged between 7 and 15, but some are younger (minimum age is usually 5) and some older (perhaps travelling as part of a larger family group). Please check with the operator to confirm the minimum age for this trip highly commended
This tourism business was Highly Commended in our 2006 First Choice Responsible Tourism Awards - the largest awards of their kind in the world, and organised by responsibletravel.com in association with The Times, World Travel Market and Geographical Magazine, of the Royal Geographical Society. Since 2004, the Awards has recognised individuals, companies and organisations in travel making a big commitment to the culture and economies of local communities and helping to conserve biodiversity.
how this holiday makes a difference
|
As you journey through Vietnam from the lowlands of the Mekong Delta though to the Hill tribes in the north in the expert hands of our local guides you and your family will be warmly welcomed by local villagers as you pass through amazingly diverse communities. As a family unit you will find that any pre-conceived barriers are instantly broken down and your clan will feel very much as home in the company of your hosts where family life is very highly regarded.
There are many children who are not so happily secure in family life and as such the Binh Luc Orphanage provides a home for 41 children aged between 6 and 15. This orphanage relies heavily on private donations to offer these disadvantaged children a fill education in pleasant surroundings with a caring and committed staff. In line with our commitment to responsible tourism we are delighted to help in the well being of those less fortunate. Aside from our financial support we also donate school equipment and clothing to the orphanage. If you would like to donate or even make a trip to the orphanage we will be delighted to help arrange this. All travellers are provided with our award-winning 20 page Responsible Travel Booklet which outlines our environmental guidelines and practices and will provide you will clear details on how you can play a vital part in reducing your impact on the fragile environments and cultures around the world. |
Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people. We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel. 'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left). We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays. We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism. This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards. |
