the amazing things you'll be doing
Porto Heli stretches around the head of a large bay at the tip of the Argolic Peninsula, opposite the well-known island of Spetses. The pine-covered headland almost encloses the bay and creates a large, natural safe sailing area, quiet sandy beaches and waterside tavernas, that can all be explored by bike or dinghy.

Porto Heli is also in a great location for exploring classical Greece with Mycenae, Navplion, Epidavros, Athens and the islands of Hydra and Poros all within easy reach. The bay provides the perfect conditions and space to race and improve your technique and skills.

You can do this on our excellent range of high perfomance and asymmetric dinghies. Porto Heli is the perfect destination for keen dinghy sailors, whilst still providing excellent facilities and attractions for non-active friends and family.

Our activity centre is based on the beach across the road from the Nautica Bay Hotel. The spacious hotel grounds and extensive facilities offer plenty of independence for youngsters of all ages who will quickly make new friends. Evening entertainment is mainly centred around the hotel bar and roof top taverna. For party animals there are a couple of nightclubs and late bars in and around Porto Heli village.
PLEASE NOTE: This holiday can be booked with or without flights. Flights are available from the following UK airports: Heathrow only
When enquiring for further details it would be very helpful if you could let us no how many people in your party.

A great holiday for:
  • All dinghy sailors
  • Dinghy race training
  • Beginner and intermediate windsurfers
  • Mountain biking
  • Flexible half board arrangement
  • Families
  • Exploring the local area
  • Youth Squad
  • Six children's clubs available
Accommodation
Our base in Porto Heli is the Nautica Bay Hotel. The hotel has always proved to be a superb location for our beach club, with its warm welcome, excellent food, pleasant grounds and convenient access to our activity equipment. During recent years the Nautica Bay has been extensively refurbished and is now jointly managed by the operator and the Vlachos family, ensuring the quality of every aspect of your holiday.
activities
These suit all ages and all abilities, from playing on the beach or our allocated children's areas to full on RYA dinghy sailing and tuition. Some bike rides may be suitable for children under 14 and we have mountain bikes suitable for children over 4'10. Your mountain bike guide will be able to advise. We have been running these programmes for many years and over time have fine-tuned and expanded the options and activities available to create the perfect recipe to suit children, parents and other guests. We offer six different children's clubs, each one specifically tailored to a particular age group (ages from 4 months - 13+ years) or ability level.

Windsurfing - The mix of morning and afternoon wind conditions is ideal for beginner and intermediate windsurfers. The bay provides flat water, excellent for learning, and is a good place for intermediates to learn harness work.

Dinghy Sailing - The sailing offers lots of variety and freedom for beginners to experts. Our extensive fleet of asymmetric and high performance dinghies are utilised to full effect with highly qualified instructors ensuring Porto Heli's status as a true performance sailing centre. Advanced sailors can work on race technique, putting skills learnt into practice during the daily racing and end of week regatta. Racing sessions include practice starts and upwind work. When conditions are appropriate we extend our sailing area outside of Porto Heli Bay to make the most of the space and conditions. During the week you can also join the day sail to outlying coves for a swin and lunch.

Mountain Biking - Porto Heli offers great riding for all abilities. Beginners will enjoy the wide open trails, which allow a relaxing introduction to off-road biking. Those willing to go further afield will experience more challenging climbs up to some fantastic viewpoints and fast, flowing descents to the quaint neighbouring villages. We keep a fleet of high quality bikes from top manufacturers Orange and Gary Fisher. If biking is your passion and you don't wish to try any of the watersports, please see the 'Watersports Waiver' discount on the price panel.

Diving - For all of our diving in Porto Heli we use the PADI recognised Kallianos Dive Centre based on a small island opposite the village of Ermioni, just a few miles from Porto Heli. The island is home to nothing more than the dive centre; its diving platform and a shaded area to create the perfect getaway. The Discover Scuba Diving course goes directly from the small island whilst those with more experience are taken by boat to a variety of dive sites nearby. Dive courses are bookable locally and are subject to avaiability

Other activities
Our staff will be happy to help you arrange any of the below in resort;

travellers' tales
Learning to sail was very rewarding. All the children and both my husband and myself had great fun, found friends and enjoyed the activities. The discover scuba diving course was really great. (more)
how this holiday makes a difference
The Porto Heli Team have come up with ten action points to further their commitment towards responsible travel.

Cycling on family activity holiday in Greece The team will help each other to achieve these aims which will hopefully promote our company within our local surroundings and make it a better place to work and live in.
  • Teach local school children to sail
  • Keep powerboat speed to a minimum
  • Try to speak more Greek
  • Teach English to locals
  • Remind ourselves of our social responsibility
  • Keep the beach clean
  • Take glasses to the bar
  • More hotel staff interaction
  • Keep the diesel pipe out of the water on the pontoon
  • Clean staff accommodation (don’t leave it to the cleaners)
The majority of our activities programmes are based on wind, pedal or muscle power, providing enough energy to satisfy most thrill-seeking speed-freaks in the most environmentally benign way we know how. We can also cater for our more sedate guests, however! We no longer use anti-fouling on our day boats and where possible we use 4-stroke outboard engines on our powerboats to reduce noise, fuel consumption and emissions.

We have tasked our overseas staff to identify 3 long-term initiatives that will bring positive benefits to the economies, communities and environments in which they live and work.

We are working with The Travel Foundation to seek ways to develop practical, sustainable tourism solutions to help protect and enhance holiday destinations.

And we are also working with the Federation of Tour Operators to develop responsible travel codes of practice.

Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people.

We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel.

'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left).

We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays.

We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism.

This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards.
