This independent walking holiday allows you the unique opportunity to explore a landscape where time has truly stood still. Walking from the historical village of Querença you will discover the Real Algarve where people can still follow a traditional way of life well away from the large-scale tourist developments on the coast. After six days of walking you reach Silves the former Moorish capital of the Algarve, with time to explore this walled town with its cobbled streets and magnificent red sandstone castle. This is a 7 night 4 centre holiday.

This seven night walking holiday offers you a wide variety of scenery and is truly away from it all. Your first 2 nights are in the mountains of Monchique before moving to a much acclaimed Quinta which sits on the waters waters edge, nestled in the wild hills of the lower Alentejo – a sparsely populated region of exceptional and unique beauty. Then on to the unspoilt west coast, part of the Cape St. Vincent Natural Park for another 2 nights. This walking week is for those who really do want to get away from it all.
Your accommodation will be: Albergaria Bica Boa, Monchique, Quinta Barranco da Estrada, Santa Clara A Velha and Casa Celeste, Odeceixe.

These short breaks are tailor-made to suit both your budget and your walking ability. The Algarve is only 2½ hours flying time from London and therefore offers you a wonderful opportunity to do something very different in a land which has 300 days of sunshine per year! Come on your own, with a partner or friends we will look after you, from the moment you arrive until you leave.

The coast of the Western Algarve is absolutely beautiful and the self guided walks we had meant that we got the chance to see alot of it - the beach at Odeceixe has to be one of the most beautiful we've ever seen, and the whole of the Parque Nacional is really worth a visit. (more)
how this holiday makes a difference
 We actively encourage our clients to be environmentally aware of all their actions and act in a proper, responsible manner at all times. Information, tips and recommendations on the life and customs of the local people are given to all clients. As much as we can our office recycles waste and we use recycled products when ever possible. All possible steps are taken to ensure that we operate all our tours in an environmentally responsible manner by example, using local guides when ever possible. We always use local services and accommodation as well as visiting rural restaurants and local shops selling local products. We are aware that travel in any country has some effect on the area and with this in mind we strive to lessen the impact, promote local employment through use and at all times show a positive attitude towards the environment and encourage others to appreciate its importance. We also pay our guides, local services and accommodation the market price for their services. |
