the amazing things you'll be doing
Join us on a relaxing week or two cruising the islands and lagoons of the beautiful Red Sea, swimming with wild dolphins, beach barbeques, and snorkelling on the coral reefs onboard a luxury liveaboard boat.
Along the coral reefs that edge the Egyptian Red Sea coastline and in the lagoons of the offshore reefs, several species of dolphins live and roam throughout the year. As we cruise to the locations we know the dolphins frequent you can enjoy the spectacular scenery of desert islands lying in calm blue waters and the mountains of the Egyptian coast, while lying on your sunbed on deck. Ideal for families, small groups & individuals.
When moored in the lagoons of the reefs, you may snorkel on the beautiful coral reefs or swim with the dolphins. You can also expect to see Green and Hawksbill turtles, many types of rays, and many beautiful coloured fishes. The islands offer spectacular bird life, with Ospreys being common, soft white sand beaches and shallow lagoons.
Dolphin species we expect to see and swim with are Bottlenose, Spinners, and Common dolphins. Also resident, but more unusual, are Rissos dolphins, whale sharks (plankton eaters) and manta rays. Rare sightings may include Leatherback and Loggerhead turtles.
Our itinerary is fairly open as we will go where we believe the dolphins will be on each day, staying with them in one spot if they are interacting happily with us. Our policy is not to intrude but to interact with the dolphins on their terms. If they show any indications of our being unwelcome we will withdraw from the water until a better dolphin-swimming opportunity presents itself. In general the dolphins appear to enjoy human company. They love to bow-ride the boats, and they often interact with swimmers.
Scuba diving is also available for experienced and first-timers. If you've ever dreamed of trying it out, now is the time! The coral reefs and marine life of the Red Sea are said to be the best in the world.
The boat is a fully fitted Liveaboard Safari vessel, with en-suite twin and triple bedded cabins, lots of storage, private WC/shower, air-conditioning, easy access to the water and lots of sunbathing space as well as shade.
The well equipped galley serves oriental and continental style food and the bright and airy saloon, with TV and video, amply accommodates all passengers. Also on board are an icemaker, barbecue, video system, CD system and battery recharging points.
Please note: These trips require a minimum occupancy, we do not book flights until the trip is filled.

how this holiday makes a difference
|
We work only with Egyptian companies who employ local workers. The boat crews and guides tend to be from fishing families who know the sea and local reefs well.
We work closely with the Red Sea Rangers to ensure the preservation of the dolphins and abide by Marine Park Regulations as well as the International Dolphin Watch Code of Conduct. We are Approved IDW Dolphin Swim Operators. By coming here, you help to provide employment for local people who have would otherwise not have the opportunity to earn good wages in work that allows them to follow their traditional employment on the sea. |
Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people. We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel. 'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left). We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've lead the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays. We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism. This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards. |
