the amazing things you'll be doing
Adventure, culture and cave dwellings
Cappadocia is simply unique; whilst there may be many amazing beaches, forests and jungles in the world, there is only one place like this and Cappadocia provides excellent conditions for Hot Air Balloon flights.
Every flight is a wonderful adventure as you float majestically over this surreal topography feeling the stillness of the world, and the distant sound of villages waking up beneath your sunrise pass. Sometimes, flying low through this extraordinary landscape you may even find yourself picking apricots from the tree-tops. Without doubt this is some of the best hot air ballooning in the world. Combine the experience with the quirky ambience of troglodyte accommodations, local guided tours and excellent restaurants for a truly memorable holiday.
The balloon flights are conducted by a legendary local company. With an highly experienced and professional team of staff dedicated to ballooning, they combine acute technical skills, geographical knowledge and good humour for a safe and memorable experience for everyone.
The price includes luxury en-suite accommodation in a boutique cave hotel on a BB basis, 2 Hot Air Balloon flights and 2 full day guided tours, taking in: impressive frescoed cave churches, valleys full of fairy chimneys, nature trails, the awesome Ihlara Canyon, cave monasteries, mind boggling underground cities, local crafts and much much more.. Your airport transfers are also included and we throw in a very special Whirling Dervish ceremony at a restored caravanserai. This is the genuine article, performed by Sufi dervishes from Konya, spiritual home of Celaleddin Rumi.
Accommodation
We offer a wonderful selection of cave rooms that fuse centuries' old cave living with impressive, dare we say, luxurious modern conveniences. Our hotel exudes charm and character at every level. Cave dwelling is what Cappadocia is famous for; caves keep you warm and cosy in the winter months and cool in the summer and they make visiting this region a delight all year round.

travellers' tales
The most memorable was the hot air ballooning. (more)
how this holiday makes a difference
Ballooning is a clean sport, and the burners in an hot air balloon generally run on propane. They do emit some pollutants, including carbon dioxide, but the quantity is negligible and virtually zero when compared to cars, motor boats, coaches etc. We only work with locally owned family hotels. We use the services of local tour guides and drivers, and crucially, by keeping our group numbers small, we reduce our impact on the community and the environment. Our land tours do use motorised transport but our main focus is on walking tours and nature trails, which are the best ways to experience the Cappadocia landscape. |
Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people. We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel. 'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left). We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays. We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism. This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards. |
