“Patagonia has always been one of my dream destinations, and is one of the most remote and untouched wildernesses left on earth. Exploring and experiencing the sheer scale of this mountainous and endless wilderness is surely one of the greatest adventures left in the more unchartered corners of the world - an absolute must for the adventurous trekker!”

traveller reviews for Patagonian adventure holiday
The most memorable part of our holiday was camping in Mt Fitz Roy National Park; it was so beautiful and the walking was excellent. We had some really good mountain guides; lots of fun. (more)
how this holiday makes a difference
|
We are committed to working in conjunction with local communities in all the countries in which we operate. We use locally owned services such as hotels and restaurants, paying a fair price for those services. We buy fresh local produce for all of our treks from markets and small shops in each departure town. In preference we choose local over imported goods and use public transport whenever possible and feasible.
On all our trekking tours we aim to minimize waste by using products with minimum packaging, leaving no litter and keeping all water sources clean, leaving camp sites cleaner than we find them. In the UK office we use recyclable and recycled materials when possible. We recycle what we can and attempt to keep waste to an absolute minimum. We promote paper saving by using email as much as possible and by keeping unwanted mail to a minimum. We use low-energy light bulbs, fair-trade and biodegradable products where possible. We are involved in on-going training of the staff we work with in the UK and in the Andes to ensure as high as possible standards of environmental care and responsible behaviour. |
Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people. We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel. 'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left). We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays. We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism. This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards. |
