the amazing things you'll be doing
Botswana, Namibia & Zambia holiday

The diverse and resplendent wilderness of southern Africa is showcased entirely in this itinerary across Botswana, Namibia and Zambia.

We experience the legendary Okavango Delta with its burgeoning wildlife filled channels and islands. Traveling by traditional dugout canoe or 'mokoro' we float past elephant, zebra, buffalo, wildebeest, hippo and kudu.

We visit the semi-arid parks of Namibia that provide an alternative habitat for wildlife including elephants, giraffes and zebras.

The big game haunts of Moremi and Chobe are home to lions and cheetahs, and provide us with another opportunity to see large herds of elephants in their natural environment.

This itinerary also provides an opportunity to walk amongst World Heritage rock art sites, created over the eons by the diminutive bushmen of southern Africa. We complete our journey in Zambia at the Victoria Falls, where we observe the wide Zambezi River fall over one hundred breathtaking metres.

Grading
Adventure tour: These adventure tours sometimes involve travel at high altitude (rarely exceeding 4000m) and may visit remote areas of the world where facilities are often basic. Many of these trips sometimes involve some camping or basic lodging. These adventure tours will often involve long journeys and rough roads. Sightseeing and optional day walks are often included and these days may involve up to 5 hours of physical activity. To enjoy these adventures we suggest you are reasonably fit, healthy, have a moderately active lifestyle and have a positive attitude.

how this holiday makes a difference
Preserving the pristine condition of Botwana’s natural environment is very important to us and to our local operation in the country. Our local guides our actively involved various environmental protection schemes in Nxai Pan, Makgadikgadi Pans National Park and Moremi Game Reserve and are actively involved in encouraging international and cross cultural awareness.

Botswana has a strict tourism policy which we adhere to. Rather refreshingly the Government has also been keen to promote quality tourism rather than quantity and our small groups ensures that your trip in Botswana will be a wonderful and intimate liaison with nature. Commitment to the conservation and preservation of Botswana’s natural bush extends to using small modified Landrovers rather than huge overland trucks which adhere to European emission controls and ensures minimum environmental impact.

Our local operation has very close links to the Maun Counselling Centre and children’s orphanage. The centre is devoted to the prevention of the spread of HIV and AIDS and act both as a support to families dealing with the disease as well as children orphaned as a result. They have helped in the building of a day care for pre-school orphans, a counselling centre to support both affected children and their families as well as a youth section to increase awareness of the disease among others.

Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people.

We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel.

'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left).

We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays.

We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism.

This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards.
