introduction to Honeymoon in style, Brazil

Three centre honeymoon in Brazil.

Luxury Lodge on Fernando de Noronha - 4 nights: A protected island paradise 350km off the coast of Brazil, with just 400 visitors allowed onto the island at any one time. You have your own beach buggy to explore this magical island; there are many dusty tracks leading to some of the most breath-taking beaches in the world, many of which, you will have to yourself.

You are in one of Brazil's best and most exclusive hotels where you stay in a luxurious chalet surrounded by a wooden deck upon which you can enjoy the sunsets, a glass of champagne in hand.

Colonial Hotel - 2 nights: A picturesque village set on a hill overlooking the sea and large bay area, this is Brazil’s best preserved colonial town where you’ll have a chance to see the colourful African influence of culture and music in Brazil’s North East.

Your guide, Joao, will give you a tour of Recife’s splendid old town and Olinda’s stunning colonial churches, and introduce you to some of the local characters.

Your hotel here is a real gem, with beautiful old furniture and four-poster beds. Set on a bluff it enjoys excellent views across the town

Luxury Boutique Hotel overlooking the sea in Rio - 3 nights: Being based here ourselves, we are uniquely positioned to get you closer to the residents and their culture; we are on hand to help you, from organising samba lessons, to local etiquette and where the locals go to enjoy authentic live music.

Your hotel is excellent, set in an exclusive hill-side neighbourhood where you have our favourite suite; beautifully decorated with a veranda that enjoys panoramic view of the sea.

Your guide, Vitor will arrange a day to give you a personalised luxury city tour, showing you those details often missed by the conventional tours and stopping at an excellent local restaurant for lunch before visiting Christ the Redeemer.

Quality and value are the hallmark of these trips.
how this holiday makes a difference
Fernando de Noronha is an extremely important marine reserve, and has been made harder to visit because of the limit of 400 people allowed to enter the island each day. The environmental conservation tax that you pay on entry goes directly to the Brazilian Environmental Agency and helps to keep the area undeveloped and well protected. A good example of the work done here is Projeto Tamar, responsible for monitoring and protecting the turtles in the area that use the shores as a hatching ground. Your pousada not only minimizes its environmental impact by recycling its water but promotes the use of sustainable energy by generating its electricity through solar power.

Your guide in Olinda, Joao is a local whom we met on our travels. We were so impressed by his warmth and knowledge that we now employ him directly as your guide. Through him you will get a real inside track on the local culture, meeting many of the local characters and genuinely participating in the local surrounds on a personal level. Your hotel here is a small, well preserved colonial building that provides a valuable revenue stream for the local people of this small town, helping to make this colonial town viable and preserved for posterity.

RioIn Rio your hotel consists of just 7 rooms, minimizing the impact on the environment and creating a more personal involvement with the locally sourced staff. Employing local people allows you to step out of the tourist bracket, and discover much more of this city than usually possible. Equally important to us, because of how much the business and the clients gain from them is giving these locally sourced staff the opportunity to earn money, improve their English and show off their home to you. They are immensely proud people, making them extremely good at their job, energetic and fun.

Part of the cost of your holiday goes towards the planting of 20 hard wood trees in the Mata Atlantica, under the guidance of R.E.G.U.A. (Reserva Ecologica de Guapi Assu) who protect one of the last stands of primary tropical rainforest left in the severely depleted Atlantic Rainforest in Brazil. This gesture is greatly appreciated by locals and campaigners alike, but most of all by the wildlife.

Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people.

We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel.

'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left).

We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays.

We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism.

This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards.
