the amazing things you'll be doing
With only five wooden chalets set in stunning gardens located directly on the legendary Cirali beach, this idyllic retreat welcomes you to a little Turkish Paradise.

Each chalet has its own porch and hammock. The interiors have all the mod cons but with the added romance and atmosphere of wood. It is little wonder that guests return again and again, bewitched by the peaceful ambience, beach location, gourmet cuisine and extensive gardens.

Owner Ahmet Dogan runs this hotel with real flare and cares about his impact on the natural setting. Dinner is candlelit; lights are covered and dimmed so as not to distract sea turtles, there are no TVs in the rooms or loud music to disturb the peace.

As a result, guests can really enjoy the stunning natural setting of Cirali, experience the wonder of the night sky and meditate on the sound of wind in the trees and waves caressing the shore. Bliss!

travellers' tales
The policy of no TV or even radio, with no intrusive lighting at night (amazing star scape) and the fact that the food from their kitchen was absolutely great, meant that it was very tempting not to leave the grounds for the whole holiday.  (more)
how this holiday makes a difference
Turtles near Cirali beach accommodation Cirali beach is a popular nesting site for the endangered loggerhead sea turtle, known locally as Caretta Caretta. Protecting them may also save the area from major development. We donate £10 of your booking fee to the Ulupinar Conservation Coop who protect the turtles and monitor their activity.

Thanks to these donations, this year we will present the Coop with infrared video cameras and GPS systems to help them better document their valuable work. On the beach patio all lights are covered and dimmed and there are no radios or TVs to disturb egg-laying turtles.

Owner Ahmet is committed to conservation and protecting the local environment, he encourages visitors to advertise the area to like-minded future visitors. Ahmet is a founding member of 'Friends of Cirali' an organisation striving to steer Cirali on the path of sustainability. His hotel maintains high standards of responsibility with regards to its operation. The cottages have been constructed so as to work in harmony with their surroundings. Several are built entirely from recycled wood.

Food produce is sourced from local farms, many of them certified organic. Your stay here directly benefits the local farming community too!

Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people.

We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel.

'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left).

We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays.

We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism.

This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards.
