the amazing things you'll be doing
Located on the west coast of mainland Greece, the centre is situated on the edge of Paleros Bay against the dramatic backdrop of the Akarnania Mountains.
Friendly and great for families, you have access to all the latest kit for some fantastic watersports action in the sparkling bay, and off the water, the club is spacious and relaxed.
Further ashore there is plenty to keep you busy with two swimming pools, two tennis courts and comfy terrace areas to watch the action from.
The centre has plenty ashore for you to enjoy. The club is spacious and modern with lots of space to relax in, whatever you like doing. Overlooking the bay, the upper terrace is home to the open air restaurant and the bar next door has a gorgeous outside seating area overlooking the main swimming pool.
A second terrace is home to the other swimming pool and covered children’s pool. Close by is our restaurant where you can enjoy good food, along with some fantastic views of the bay. A second bar is close to the beach and offers drinks and snacks as you take a break from the day’s activities.
Kids club: Our excellent ALL DAY free childcare programme means that if you wish, your kids have the opportunity to be entertained by professional and caring nannies and activity instructors. The great thing about our kids' clubs is that they are extremely flexible, and your children can spend precious time with you or alternatively enjoy the kids club activities, as you please! We also offer a one to one babysitting service, Night Crèche and supervised Video Club on inclusive meal nights and an Evening Activity Club on non-inclusive evenings (subject to availability), which enables you to enjoy an evening relaxing or visiting the locality.
Mountain biking: The area is great for exploring by mountain bike so take advantage of the daily guided trails around the bay and up into the nearby villages. You can cycle right along the coastline of the large bay surrounding the centre with some fantastic views along the way.
Tennis: You’ll find plenty to keep you busy with two tennis courts – one is situated right by the restaurant area, providing the perfect viewing platform to watch some serves while relaxing with a drink. The other is at the right hand side of the club, and both have lots of top class equipment as well as a supervising instructor on hand for advice, tips and coaching throughout the day.
Fitness: Our fitness studio is spacious, light and airy, and has a variety of gym equipment available to enjoy a total body workout and plenty of space for the free fitness classes available. Among the classes on the programme, daily aqua aerobics classes take place in the pool by the upper terrace and are very popular as an early morning wake up exercise! Our instructor will be able to advise you on the classes that best suit your needs and abilities, and they do their best to make every aspect of your workout an invigorating and fulfilling experience.
The Spa: A treatment room where we offer a variety of treatments and therapies from massage to manicures. Book in while you are at the centre or before you leave.
Excursions: Paleros Town is just a 10 minute coastal walk away from the club and very popular with guests. The town has a number of small bars, shops and tavernas which leave you spoilt for choice when it comes to dining out at non inclusive meal times. Car hire is available to explore nearby Astakos, Mitikas and Levkas. Levkas Town’s cosmopolitan atmosphere, bustling harbour, shops and street cafes are well worth a visit. how this holiday makes a difference
|
This hotel is Greek owned and located on the west coast of mainland Greece, on the edge of Paleros Bay. A maximum of 120 staff are employed of which approximately 51 are local. Full training is offered to UK and local staff alike. This includes health & hygiene, and customer service training together with the option for local beach staff to gain RYA recognised sailing qualifications and the opportunity for progression to management.
Returning customers are delighted to be remembered by our local staff and constantly remind us that this is such an important part of their holiday experience. Our flexible half board meal plan allows our customers to try the local Greek restaurants and bars in nearby Paleros town. A bike ride or gentle stroll into town offers the opportunity to further support the local community and we therefore recommend visits to the local market, craft shops and also organise excursions to places of interest. Evening entertainment at the club is varied and often consists of local musicians and Greek dancers. This area is rich in agriculture and fishing and we are therefore able to take advantage of this, purchasing 90% of our food from local suppliers. Spare parts are also sourced locally where available. In addition to this our day yachts provide natural transport and the opportunity to explore the waters of the Ionian islands and inland sea. Many of these bays have local restaurants enabling customers to enjoy lunches away from the club. Children taking part in our kid's clubs enjoy nature walks, learning about the local seaside and culture. The kids's weekly menu includes local dishes, such as moussaka and stuffed tomatoes. The children learn a Greek word daily and are actively involved in making decorations for Greek night and also take part in traditional dancing. Our environmental policy includes the use of Eco Line cleaning products for room and boat cleaning. Safety boat/outboard engines are 4 stroke, reducing emissions and fuel consumption. Our hotels operate Bio Packs, biological sewage systems in order to treat sewage and reuse the water on the gardens. We offer customer tips on environmental responsibility in our brochure, website, pre-holiday information and during briefings. This includes advice on litter and waste disposal, water conservation, energy saving, and care for local flora and fauna. We are also keen to learn from our customers and invite their feedback and recommendations on our post holiday questionnaires. Our chosen charity is currently the Amazing Grace Foundation in Antigua. The foundation runs a small home on the island for homeless and severely disabled children. Last year thanks to our generous guests we raised over £7000 for Amazing Grace which will be used towards the build of a new home for the children. In addition to the above we support VISAR, Virgin Islands Search and Rescue (VISAR) a voluntary organisation dedicated to saving life at sea. It is the officially recognised search and rescue service in the British Virgin Islands and to date we have raised several thousands pounds for this worthwhile cause. Getting youngsters on the water is important to us and we have therefore sponsored RYA's OnBoard programme to introduce sailing and windsurfing as a sport for young people. |
Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people. We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel. 'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left). We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays. We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism. This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards. |
