the amazing things you'll be doing
Arriving in Argentina you will be met in arrivals in Corrientes by your pilot who will bring you by light aircraft across the stunning landscape of Esteros del Iberá, landing on a grass runway next to the Estancia.

Full luxury estancia, Corrientes (4 nights)
The Esteros del Iberá are one of Argentina’s hidden secrets, a vast swathe of wetlands teeming with abundant animal life. This estancia, originally built in the 18th Century, is part of a conservation and protection project with a resident biologist monitoring the area. The vast estate is allowed to grow wild save the immaculate gardens immediately surrounding the estancia.

The refurbishment of the estancia has been done with a remarkable attention to detail incorporating beautiful antiques and original prints and paintings. The excellent meals of hearty country food with a contemporary edge are prepared with fresh organic produce from the estancia’s large garden.

Activities here depend on you individual needs but can include trips to the local lagoon (which you navigate by speedboat, stopping for a barbecue at sunset), light aircraft flights across the wetlands and trips across the savannah with an Argentine gaucho on one of the 12 beautiful Criollo horses. The light aircraft remains at the Estancia during your stay and is available for further flight to another two Estancias in this area.

how this holiday makes a difference
The Estancia in Corrientes has converted 12000 hectares of former cattle ranch into a nature reserve and oversees conservation projects, ensuring this increasingly threatened wetland habitat is around for future generations to enjoy. Education is of great importance. Staying here and going on excursions in the wetlands allows guests to gain a good understanding of the local ecosystem and an appreciation for the importance of wetlands and savannah landscapes. All meals are prepared with organic vegetables and free range meat.

Part of your money, paid to the hotel in Foz de Iguaçu goes towards conserving the national park in which you stay. This gesture is greatly appreciated and helps to decrease the environmental impact of tourism in the area.

In Buenos Aires your hotel is made of just 4 rooms, meaning a minimized impact on the environment and a more personal involvement with the local staff. As with all of our tours and expeditions, we use locally sourced guides and drivers, such as Diana in Buenos Aires. This provides you with the ideal person with which to learn about the city whilst also getting to know the people and their way of life in person. This in turn gives us more opportunity to support the local economy, whilst allowing our local guides the chance to broaden their horizons, improve their English and share with you their marvelous city.

Part of the cost of your holiday goes towards the planting of 20 hard wood trees in the Mata Atlantica, under the guidance of R.E.G.U.A. (Reserva Ecologica de Guapi Assu) who protect one of the last stands of primary tropical rainforest left in the severely depleted Atlantic Rainforest in Brazil.

Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people.

We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel.

'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left).

We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays.

We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism.

This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards.
