the amazing things you'll be doing
Described by the Kololo tribe as Mosi-oa-Tunya - 'the Smoke that Thunders', Victoria Falls are a spectacular sight of awe-inspiring beauty and grandeur. Combined with an amazing wilderness experience in the Okavango Delta and some of the world's best game viewing in Kruger, this adventure uncovers Africa's natural wonders.

Highlights: Spot the 'big five' in Kruger, see the awesome Victoria Falls, explore the Okavango Delta in a dugout canoe, spot game in the Khama Rhino Sanctuary, visit an animal orphanage, take a game viewing cruise on the Oliphants River, go walking in Polokwane Game Reserve.
day-by-day itinerary
Day 1-3:Kruger National Park. Travel from Johannesburg towards Blyde River Canyon, one of South Africa's most scenic sights. After taking in views of the lowveld, continue on the Kruger National Park for some game spotting. Not only is this one of the best parks to see Africa's 'big five' it's also one of the oldest and largest. As well as lions, leopards, elephants and rhinos, look for cheetahs, giraffes and even hippos.
Day 4-7:Polokwane Game Reserve/Livingstone. With a name that means 'place of safety', the Polokwane Game Reserve is a fitting highlight of the Limpopo Province, know as the 'home of peace'. Cross into Botswana, a dry, arid and fascinating country. Skirt the shimmering Makgadikgadi Pans and travel to Zambia to camp on the banks of the mighty Zambezi. This is an excellent base for exploring the awesome beauty and action-packed activities of Victoria Falls or as the locals call it Mosi oa Tunya, 'smoke that thunders'. Go bungee jumping, white water rafting or take a helicopter flight over the falls.
Day 8-12:Chobe National Park/Okavango Delta. Back in Botswana, there's the option to visit Chobe National Park, famous for its population of elephants. Catch one of the park's magnificent sunsets on an evening cruise to spot fish-eagles and maybe even a family of elephants bathing in the river. Spend two nights in the Okavango Delta and be guided through the maze of channels by 'polers' on mokoro, traditional dugout canoe. There is also a chance to explore on solid land on a walking safari.
Day 13-14:Khama Rhino Sanctuary For a bird's eye view of the delta there is an optional morning flight over this natural wonder, before travelling on to the Khama Rhino Sanctuary. Enjoy an evening game drive to spot white rhinos, zebras and giraffes before returning to Johannesburg.

Price includes transport, camping and some meals (13 breakfasts, 5 lunches, 12 dinners)
travellers' tales
It was all pretty memorable - for positive reasons! Well organised, excellent guide - and the group of us gelled well. (more)
small group adventure holiday
Typically you will be sharing your experiences with between 4-20 like minded travellers (depending on the trip, operator and how many others are booked on the trip) and you'll have a group leader with you. Whether you are travelling alone or with friends its good value, and a great way to meet new people! While itineraries are pre-planned there is some flexibility and you'll have plenty of privacy. This trip will appeal to travellers of all ages who enjoy meeting new people as well as seeing new places.
how this holiday makes a difference
We have always felt that Africans are better placed to show you Africa than we are! It is our policy to employ local guides for the duration of your trip. We always aim to spend money as locally as possible, and to work with local people in preference to ex patriates. We purchase food local so that money is well distributed within the regions we visit during the trip.

When not being used by us, we often send our safari trucks out on safari with local school kids to give them a taste of their own country in the national parks that are often too expensive for locals to visit.

For every passenger trip week that we operate in Africa, we plant a tree in Kenya through our support of the Woodlands 2000 trust, a local NGO. We also offer you a chance to climate balance your international flights by making a payment to C-Level, who in turn finance certified reforestation projects in Uganda. We already carbon compensate our office activities through C-Level, working with them to audit, then minimise waste, and finally to carbon compensate for the energy we do use.

Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people.

We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel.

'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left).

We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays.

We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism.

This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards.
