the amazing things you'll be doing
We offer both 5 & 6 day trips on the Coruh River, and 1 day & overnight rafting trips on the Dalaman River.
5 & 6 day rafting trips: The Coruh River in north-east Turkey offers a world-class white water rafting experience and is at its most exciting in June.
Fed by snow-melt from the Eastern Black Sea Mountains in north-east Turkey, the Coruh flows through spectacular canyons and narrow, fertile valleys of orchards and tiny paddy fields, past ancient ruined castles, all set against a backdrop of magnificent rugged mountains.
Choose between the 5-day trip, which includes the exciting class 5 rapids of the Ispir and Yusufeli gorges; or the 6-day trip, with an extra day of trekking or rafting on the Barhal River.
As well as high-adrenalin rafting, this trip also offers the chance to experience the beautiful natural landscape of this remote part of Turkey, and the traditional life of the hospitable local villagers. During the trip we camp wild by the riverside, living the outdoor life to the full. This is an unforgettable experience for those in search of adventure.
We have been running regular expeditions on the Coruh River since 1992. We believe our local knowledge of the area and the people will substantially enhance your enjoyment of the trip.
One day & overnight rafting trips: If you are keen to try some rafting while you are in Turkey but don’t have time for a multi-day rafting expedition, you shouldn’t miss the chance to take part in one of our one-day or overnight rafting trips on the Dalaman River in south-west Turkey, the most exciting rafting experience on the south coast. One-day trips depart every day from April to October from Marmaris, Dalyan and Fethiye.

We are a locally-based tour operator, fully committed to running our tours in a way that reduces the impact on our environment and contributes as much as possible to the local community.
On all of our rafting expeditions we camp, thus minimising use of water and energy. We make sure that we leave camp sites as clean as we found them, or cleaner. We do this by explaining our environmental approach to our guests, encouraging them to minimize use of plastic bottles, to separate recyclable waste and to leave no trace at each campsite we use. We minimize the amount of packaging used for our supplies as much as possible. All the services that we use, such as transport and restaurants, are locally owned and operated. Our staff is made up mainly of local Turkish people and we are committed to training local people as guides to a high standard. We accept a maximum number of 18 people on our Coruh River expeditions, because we believe that small groups minimise the impact of tourism on the environment. In addition, a small group size enables local people and visitors to interact in a more meaningful way, benefiting both sides; and for the same reason we ensure that the group is accompanied by a guide who speaks both English and Turkish. During our rafting expeditions we camp near small villages, where we stock up with supplies and sometimes eat a meal; this provides a direct source of income to local people, and provides you with a wonderful opportunity to experience the rural way of life at first hand. One way that we minimise the impact on the environment is by using vehicles as little as possible and by using group transport. Of course rafting itself is a very environmentally friendly, non-polluting way of exploring our wonderful Turkish rivers. In addition to minimising any negative impact, we aim to create a positive impact on the environment by introducing visitors to the great variety of flora and fauna found here, much of it rare and endangered. To this end we provide participants on our expeditions with illustrated notes about the natural heritage of the area, including information about Turkish environmental organisations. If you would like to offer your support to any of these organisations, we provide contact details. Our aim is to raise the consciousness of both visitors and local people about local conservation issues. |
Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people. We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel. 'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left). We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've lead the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays. We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism. This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards. |
