the amazing things you'll be doing
We organise 6-day sea kayaking expeditions on several different routes in a very special region of southwest Turkey. Choose between routes that explore Koycegiz Lake, the Dalyan delta and Gocek Bay, the Gulf of Gökova, and the Gulf of Hisarönü. This is a chance to discover steep rugged cliffs, deserted sandy bays, deep clear water, and natural hot springs, as well as many types of wildlife. The region is dotted with fascinating ancient ruins, often in the remotest of locations.
Camping on remote beaches in sheltered bays, snorkelling to admire the sea life, exploring ancient ruins, this is a chance for people who enjoy paddling to experience a wilder, more natural Turkey.
Our sea kayaking expeditions are designed for people with some previous kayaking experience, and for fit and active beginners with a sense of adventure. Safety drills and paddling techniques are practised at the start of the trip. We use both one-person kayaks and tandem kayaks, depending on the experience of the participants, and the group size. We carry all gear in our kayaks; we camp on beaches without organised facilities and prepare our own meals most nights. All in all, this is a true expedition experience!

Just being outside the whole week, literally carrying everything we needed with us was the highlight. (more)
independent adventure holidays
These trips have set itineraries and can operate either on set dates or flexible dates. They are suitable for small private groups or couples and operate with a minumum of two people. All independent trips are subject to availability. We do not have an unlimited supply of vehicles, accommodation or guides, there are also limits on entry permits or restrictions on visitors to some of our most popular destinations. It is therefore strongly recommended that you plan any independent adventure holidays as early as possible.how this holiday makes a difference

We are a locally-based tour operator, fully committed to running our tours in a way that reduces the impact on our environment and contributes as much as possible to the local community.
On all of our sea kayaking expeditions we camp, thus minimising use of water and energy. We make sure that we leave camp sites as clean as we found them, or cleaner. We do this by explaining our environmental approach to our guests, encouraging them to minimize use of plastic bottles, to separate recyclable waste and to leave no trace at each campsite we use. We minimize the amount of packaging used for our supplies as much as possible. All the services that we use, such as transport and restaurants, are locally owned and operated. Our staff is made up mainly of local Turkish people and we are committed to training local people as guides to a high standard. We accept a maximum number of 8 people on this trip, because we believe that small groups minimise the impact of tourism on the environment. In addition, a small group size enables local people and visitors to interact in a more meaningful way, benefiting both sides; and for the same reason we ensure that the group is accompanied by a guide who speaks both English and Turkish. During our sea kayaking expeditions we stop at small coastal settlements, where we stock up with supplies and sometimes eat a meal; this provides a direct source of income to local people. One way that we minimise the impact on the environment is by using vehicles as little as possible and by using group transport. Of course sea kayaking itself is a very environmentally friendly, non-polluting way of exploring the beautiful outdoors in this part of the world. In addition to minimising any negative impact, we aim to create a positive impact on the environment by introducing visitors to the great variety of flora and fauna found here, much of it rare and endangered. To this end we provide participants on our expeditions with illustrated notes about the natural heritage of the area, including information about Turkish environmental organisations. If you would like to offer your support to any of these organisations, we provide contact details. Our aim is to raise the consciousness of both visitors and local people about local conservation issues. |
Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people. We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel. 'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left). We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays. We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism. This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards. |
