Delta is a world class conservation area and a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts, considered Europe’s last great wilderness destination.

The lakes, channels and estuaries of the vast Danube Delta are a paradise for birds, fish and plants. Delta is home to the largest colony of white pelicans in Europe, as well as to some protected bird species around the world - Pygmy cormorant, Little egret, Spoonbill, Glossy ibis.

This vast variety of waters and landscapes offer challenging fishing opportunities with virtually thousands of locations to choose from.

Further more; Danube Delta is also considered a civilisation nest offering visits to historic monasteries, vineyards dating back to the Roman Empire, or impressive Greek fortresses such as Histria or the Romanian Pompei, the first Greek colony on the west shore of the Black Sea and the oldest city on Romanian territory.

Price inlcudes accommodation in premium villa, 5* resort, full board, all excursions and activities as per itinerary (including boats, guide services, fishing equipment and local taxes), transportation (all transfers from Bucharest to the resort and back with a luxury vehicle), and entry fees to the mentioned tourist attractions.

how this holiday makes a difference
To protect the environment, especially since we’re dealing with a world class conservation area, one of Europe’s last great wilderness destinations, home to a large variety of birds, fish and plants we operate with small groups to minimise the negative impact on the environment, always make sure that our tourists have a recyclable garbage bag and that the waste will be disposed only in the special arranged areas. Our Danube Delta guides, true nature enthusiasts, have intricate knowledge of the routes involved and provide our guests with the best suggestions: keep to tracks, not disturb the wildlife, use bio-degradable hygiene products and of course, enjoy themselves.

Monastery on Danube Delta tailormade holidayBesides the economic aspect – we’re using only local suppliers; your visit is of great importance for the small rural communities as you’ll be able to purchase locally goods starting with food and ending with souvenirs & handicrafts. You’ll enjoy a monastic lunch served by nuns in Saon Monastery and sample some wine in Badila cellars, the vineyards are said to have been planted by Roman soldiers in the 15th century, you’ll also visit the beautiful Lipovan villages–the most isolated and idyllic is Periprava and the famous Letea forest, the first natural reserve declared in Romania. The Romanian guide will also advise you on local customs as well as help you to break down language barriers.

The entry fees will help maintain and even restore the precious tourist attractions visited through out the tour: Saon Monastery, Cocos Monastery, Badila Cellars.

Apart from these, we’re making financial contributions for every persons who books one of our tours or programmes in the amount of £1 per person to support Saint Daniel’s Foundation programme entitled "A grand father for a nephew – A nephew for a grandfather", helping elderly and orphans, people most in need.

We encourage our guests do a little reading before coming to find out more about their host communities and the environment so that they would connect better with the locals. We provide suggestion on how best to support the local economies and communities, as well as the surrounding environment. Guests will receive a pre-trip information pack via e-mail, to minimise the use of paper, which will inform them about issues relating to the place they will travel, some language tips and general advice. Furthermore, our tour guides are well-educated multilingual people who can offer guests their skills as an interpreter and offer up-to-date details on current national and regional issues.

Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people.

We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel.

'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left).

We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays.

We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism.

This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards.
