day-by-day itinerary
| Day 1: | Bucharest - Cluj - Turda. Welcome to Romania! Domestic flight from the capital city of Bucharest to Cluj. Your English speaking guide (a motorcycle enthusiast) will connect with you at the airport and escort you to your inviting accommodation, a lovely 4* hotel. Dinner will certainly relax you and offer you the first “taste” of delicious Transylvania. |
| Day 2: | Turda - Turzii’s Gorges - Buru - Turda. Morning ride from Turda, a small town with a lovely medieval atmosphere, founded by the Dacians, under the name Potaissa, then conquered by the Romans. The town preserves even now days the traces left behind by the Romans, in fact you’ll ride today on the old “Roman road”, between Turzii’s Gorges and Buru. Turzii’s Gorges are one of the most important natural reservations of the Apuseni Mountains. Located in Trascau Mountains, these gorges are well known among mountain lovers for the number and diversity of their routes. The relief of the gorges is also impressive by the vertical mountain sides and the array of rocks. Your 4* accommodation, a medieval fantasy with beds has prepared a special dinner for you, a real culinary event – you’ll delight yourself with a vampire menu! |
| Day 3: | Turda - Salciua - Ramet - Aiud - Valea Dracului (Devil’s Valley) - Moldovenesti - Turda. Wake up to the smell of fresh coffee in the second day of your soft enduro motorcycle tour. After breakfast you’ll explore the entire Ariesului valley, Motzilor Country in all its beauty, each curve revealing stunning sceneries. Visit Huda lui Papara Cave (do you remember the history of Pied Piper, the magic flute singer? If not, this tour will remind you). You’ll enjoy a delicious but most important blessed lunch in the peaceful Ramet Monastery. Quite a challenge for you after lunch, you’ll cross Carpathians, on a spectacular, wild route, mostly cut right in the mountain wall, known as the “outlaws’ road”. |
| Day 4: | Turda - Muntele Baisorii - Belis - Horea. A big day for you! You’ll ride to the White House today! No, you won’t meet the president, but one of his biggest fans, the mayor of Horea village. He decided that this marvellous village, located in the heart of Sunset Mountains is no less than Washington, thus the Village Town Hall was painted in white and it is known among villagers as the White House! You’ll also try something new for lunch, a traditional Hungarian menu, served at a lovely country-inn by women dressed in traditional Hungarian Clothing. How does Goulas Flambé and ice-cream pancakes with blueberry sound? Accommodate in Horea Village, in a 4* country-inn. |
| Day 5: | Horea - Garda - Cetatile Ponorului - Bears Cave - Stana de Vale. Spectacular gorges, struggling waterfalls and mysterious caves, that’s what the itinerary of this day provides you with. Discovered 20 years ago, Bears Cave got its name from the skeletons of some very old species of bear that were found here, I’m sure it will make quite an impression on you! You’ll enjoy a picnic in the wild nature, in Padis, the largest natural reserve in Romania. Accommodate in a 4* country-inn in Stana de Vale. |
| Day 6: | Stana de Vale - Valea Iadului (Hell Valley) - Remeti - Huedin - Cluj Napoca. Get back on mountain routes today. The trail you’ll follow will enable you to admire some of the most beautiful Romanian mountain lakes Lesu and Dragan. Accommodate in Cluj Napoca, one of Transylvania’s largest and important cities, in a 4* hotel. And after so many days in the wild nature, the swimming pool is an attractive, appealing opportunity, isn’t it? |
| Day 7: | Cluj Napoca - Bucharest. Time to say good-bye but we’re sure you’ll decide to visit us again; you’ll come as a tourist but will leave as a friend. Transfer by car to the airport for the flight to Bucharest and then embark for the flight back home. |

To minimise the negative impact on the environment we operate this soft enduro motorcycle tour with small groups, always make sure that our tourists have a recyclable garbage bag and that the waste will be disposed only on the special arranged areas. Our guides, true motorcycle but as well nature enthusiasts, have intricate knowledge of the routes involved and provide our guests with the best suggestions: keep to tracks, not disturb the wildlife, use bio-degradable hygiene products and of course, enjoy themselves. The itinerary enables our guest not only to enjoy a great ride but to also to connect to the local culture by visiting small rural communities such as Horea village in the heart of Sunset Mountains, or by enjoying a monastic lunch in Ramet Monastery or a traditional Hungarian meal in a small family run country-inn in Savadislava. Apart from these, we’re making financial contributions for every persons who books one of our tours or programmes in the amount of £1 per person to support Saint Daniel’s Foundation programme entitled 'A grand father for a nephew – A nephew for a grandfather', helping elderly and orphans, people most in need. We encourage our guests do a little reading before coming to find out more about their host communities and the environment so that they would connect better with the locals. We provide suggestion on how best to support the local economies and communities, as well as the surrounding environment. Guests will receive a pre-trip information pack via e-mail, to minimise the use of paper, which will inform them about issues relating to the place they will travel, some language tips and general advice. Furthermore, our tour guides are well-educated multilingual people who can offer guests their skills as an interpreter and offer up-to-date details on current national and regional issues. |
Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people. We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel. 'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left). We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays. We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism. This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards. |
