the amazing things you'll be doing
Half day and full day tours in Sardinia.
On the east coast of the Island of Sardinia, between the cape Punta Nera (North) and the cape Monte Santu (South) is located the Orosei’s Gulf.
Cala Gonone is a village on the coast in the middle of that gulf; the territory south of Cala Gonone is characterised by a calcareous mountain chain, covered by a typical Mediterranean maquis. The total lack of urban settlements or coastal roads makes this wild coast one of the most interesting ones from a naturalistic and environmental point of view.
The most appealing aspect of this gulf is probably the amazing landscape and the chance to do several different activities. With our tour you will live and participate in a relaxing activity like snorkeling where we take our time to discover little corners, caverns and rock arches. Most of them are only accessible either by walking or from the sea. Our half day-tours have been created in order to share with people the possibility to enjoy the nature with no rush. In fact, we offer a challenging way of experiencing the sea with our snorkeling activity and boat trips.
Best time to go
From April to October; other periods on request. As we have different options to offer we can organise tailor made tours combining the activities you prefer according to your needs and time availability. Please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss your requirements.
We offer the possibility to visit the gulf in the best moment of the day leaving early in the morning. We depart from the port around 8:30 - 9:00 am and we go south until we reach the southernmost spot just after the beach of Cala Sisine. With these excursions in the splendid Orosei' Gulf we will be discovering some of the hidden gems along this coastline. Small caves with stalactites, emerald green sea with glowing reflections, accompanied by our Padi guides who will take you exploring with masks and fins the mysteries of the Mediterranean fauna and flora.
For the more adventurous we offer you a really special snorkelling experience in total contact with the magic of nature! We have several different itineraries so you can join us and come for more excursions every time going to a different place.
Itinerary: This excursion is specially designed for families, but also for adults that like to enjoy nature and to do things slowly without rushing. We prepare the gear the day beforehand (fins, mask, wetsuit) and we meet early in the morning at the harbour in front of our boat. After we jump in the rubber boat, we will start an enchanting tour to discover the coast with its little caves, nice beaches and special places suitable for snorkeling. The coastline is 40 km of wild walls, caves, and beaches and we will stop by the cliff to enjoy snorkeling. On Sundays we organize a special day with children (a minimum number is required) where after the navigation along the coast we stop in a beautiful beach and from here we start the snorkeling with children and parents.

What we try to promote is a different approach to the area. Our idea is to bring the natural resources of the Gulf out and give people the possibility to enjoy it; always bearing in mind the concept of well-being with special attention to the various levels of man's expression: physical, psychological, and spiritual. As long as possible, we have always been aware of our behaviour in nature.
Another goal that we’d like to achieve is to provide a positive example of responsible travelling for future developments. Finally, we always set small groups in order to give people the possibility to experience Sardinia in a relaxing way, without rushing from place to place and trying to have a good personal relationship with everyone in the group. Our economical policy is based on rules of common sense: Our environmental policy can be resumed considering the following action that we take as a normal rule: In cooperation with PADI, we annually organise an event called "beach clean-up" to awaken the local community to environmental problems. Together with DAN, we are supporting a campaign about the security of the divers in the water. Having small groups of guests gives us the chance to have a close relationship with them and to make them aware of environmental problems. For snorkelling, hiking and abseiling the fundamental idea is not to leave any trace of our passage. |
Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people. We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel. 'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left). We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays. We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism. This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards. |
