the amazing things you'll be doing
From your spa hotel in the stunning Patagonian Lake District to one of South America’s most exciting cities – Buenos Aires and beyond to the vineyards of Mendoza. This is a fantastic way to see some of the most beautiful places Argentina has to offer, not to mention an unmissable opportunity to sample some of South America’s finest wines.

Highlights include:
  • Trekking, horse riding, rafting
  • Spa treatments
  • Private guided city tour of Buenos Aires
  • Wine tasting

When you land in Bariloche, you’ll be met in arrivals and driven to your beautifully situated spa hotel on the San Pedro Peninsular. Characterised not only by lakes, but by lush forest, waterfalls and crystal clear rivers, Patagonia’s Lake District is truly breathtaking. Surrounded by snow capped mountains and perched on the edge of a clear blue lake, your luxury hotel is not only a wonderful place to relax, but also the perfect base from which to explore all that this beautiful area has to offer. Your hotel has an excellent restaurant, a lovely pool, spa facilities and also offers a whole range of activities including the opportunity to go horseback riding into the unspoilt wilderness, try white water rafting, hike through the Andes or head out for a days fishing. This is a fantastic way to begin your very own Argentine odyssey.

Following your stay in the Patagonian Lake District, you’ll head north to the fantastic city of Buenos Aires. Standing on the banks of the River Plate, this is a city bursting with culture, passion and beauty. A fantastically cosmopolitan place, BA is packed with great restaurants, chic bars and good shopping as well as wonderful architecture, grand tree lined avenues and a unique vibrancy that you won’t find anywhere else in South America. You’ll stay in the fashionable Palermo district where you are perfectly located for bars, restaurant and boutique stores. During your stay, on a morning that suites you, you’ll be collected by your guide and Buenos Aires local who will take you on your own private tour of this fantastic city. Your boutique hotel has a pool and lovely garden as well as a great restaurant and bar. There is also a spa where you can enjoy some real pampering at the end of a long day of exploration on the bustling city streets.

After the excitement of Buenos Aires you’ll head for the northern Andes and the vineyards of Mendoza. With a backdrop of snow capped mountains, Mendoza not only offers wonderful views, it also produces some of the best Malbec and Torrontes wines in the world. Here you’ll stay in a beautifully restored Renaissance-style villa which dates back to the 1890s. Surrounded by vineyards, you can relax in the luxurious surroundings of the lodge which not only has one of the best restaurants in Mendoza, but also its own artisan winery, as well as a fantastic wine cellar for you to sample. It also has its own spa and pool, and if you fancy something a little different, other activities on offer include trekking, rafting, paragliding and horse riding. This is a must for wine loves and a real culinary treat. It’s the only way to round off your luxury Argentine Odyssey. Your stay at the lodge includes use of the spa as well as wine tasting and access to the winery.

how this holiday makes a difference
All the hotels we use are locally owned and run. We also only ever use local guides. This not only benefits the surrounding community and boosts the local economy; it also ensures that our clients have a more authentic experience during their trip. In addition, our partner lodge in Mendoza was recently declared an ´Historical, Architecture and Tourist Heritage´ site, and part of the cost of your stay goes towards maintaining this status.

Our clients are also encouraged to visit the local artisan winery whilst at the lodge in Mendoza. This not only offers an opportunity for them to learn about traditional, low output wine making, it also provides vital revenue which ensures that these traditional methods continue to thrive.

As with all our holidays, our sustainable tourism policy means that all the activities offered during the itinerary are run in small groups ensuring a minimal impact on the environment. In addition, everything taken out on a trek or tour is brought back and wherever possible, waste products are recycled. £20 from every holiday we sell goes to support a project run by Regua aimed at protecting and replanting the Atlantic rain forest in Rio state, and a Rio based NGO which provides educational courses for the community of Vidigal – one of the city’s favelas.

Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people.

We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel.

'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left).

We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays.

We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism.

This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards.
