the amazing things you'll be doing
The Tatras are ideal for family holidays. Due to their exquisite natural scenery, the Tatras offer many possibilities to enjoy moments of relaxation, entertainment and physical exertion in the fresh air.
Zakopane, the hearth of Tatra Mountains, has many attractions for youth and children; it offers for example cable-car to Gubalówka or Kasprowy Wierch, hiking, wooden churches and a market selling handmade toys and other handicrafts.
At mealtimes, many restaurants feature such picky-eater fare as dumplings and apple cakes, served by waiters in traditional dress.
The magic atmosphere of the smallest alpine mountains in Europe will refresh you and your family and invigorate you with the optimism and energy you need to overcome the demanding days ahead. The sunrises and sunsets in the Tatra Mountains are famous for their outstanding beauty and all those who are fond of photography will be impressed by sudden and unexpected weather changes accompanying atmospheric phenomena.
Amateurs of trekking will quickly take to an endless variety of local trails, some of which date back to the interwar period when trekking was in vogue in Poland. The mountainous climate will surely sharpen your appetite so that you can enjoy delicious local barbecue dishes. There is a special barbecue roofed outdoor area within the property.
Accommodation is in fully equipped chalets. Although traditional-looking, these stylish huts situated up on a hill are surprisingly modern inside and were built according to local tradition craft. In every chalet there are double and triple bedrooms, kitchen and two bathrooms. There is a terrace from which you will be able to marvel at the scenic, monumental and overwhelming landscape.
There is no age restriction for the guesthouse and our programme is not challenging. Older children are welcome, as long as they are able to walk the route. A lot of people carry their child in special carriers - they are perfect for hiking with the little one.

|
Our aim is to offer holidays for those who wish to discover the real Polish countryside, culture, history, landscape and natural world. The idea being that you will visit as guests rather than as tourists.
We recommend this place particularly to those who search for isolation, silence and for all those who look for high accommodation standards whilst having the desire to relax in the bossom of nature amidst nature untouched by pollution, away from noisy congested roads and streets. It is a place warmly recommended for people with children. We use local transport as much as possible (small charter bus), not a large coach, thus reducing our impact on the environment. Many tourists in Zakopane take a horse-drawn cart, a large number of which are operated by the local Górale inhabitants. A visit around the Zakopane centre by horse cart is very popular. The horse-drawn cart can take also to the lake Morskie Oko. Our tour leaders are trained by us in the importance of responsible tourism with guidance given on how they can make a difference. In addition all local guides used are considered friends rather than 'business contacts'. Traditional highlanders cuisine is famous for its simplicity and special tastes. Many restaurants in central Poland are reaching out for recipies origining from Podhale regions. But only here, in Tatra Mountains, you can try the original taste in typical interiors with live music and a fireplace. There is a lot of typical inns in this area which serve traditional local dishes like cabbage soup (kwasnica), goat or sheep cheese and all kind of dumplings; bukta, haluski, tarciochy, moskole, karpiele. All these dishes present a special charakter of local cuisine. You can choose from many popular trips, or combine several trails to brew your own unique travel experience. You will see here green vales, clear mountain lakes, far-off cascades, sheer cliffs, rocky and icy peaks - an assortment of natural wonders. Characterized by its alpine peaks and thick forests, the Tatra National Park is home to Poland's highest peak, post glacial depressions, and the abode for various flora and fauna like brown bears, falcons and marmots. If you feel like spending a family holidays in an extraordinary environment, surrounded by picturesque mountains, this is the place for you. |
Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people. We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel. 'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left). We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've lead the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays. We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism. This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards. |
