Day 1:Arrival. Meet on arrival in Kilimanjaro airport and transfer to your hotel in Arusha.
Day 2:Tarangire National Park. After breakfast a quick briefing will take place followed by a 9:30 departure. From Arusha we drive to Tarangire National Park taking approximately 2 hours. We spend the day in the park exploring and game viewing with a picnic lunch provided. We depart the park and head to Lake Manyara to our pre-erected private camp and enjoy a sumptuous dinner.
Day 3:Lake Manyara National Park. Today we spend a full day in Lake Manyara National Park, looking for tree climbing lions as well as the thousands of Flamingos that skirt the lake’s shores. Overnight at Lake Manyara.
Day 4:Ngorongoro conservation area. Early departure to Ngorongoro conservation area, climbing up the steep roads to the top of the crater rim, which offers spectacular views into the caldera below. After pausing for a stretch of legs and some photos, we continue down into the crater and spend the rest of the day game viewing. Four of the Big Five are almost guaranteed, with only the elusive leopard being a trickier find. We overnight at our private camp, newly set up on the edge of the crater.

how this holiday makes a difference
This tour is operated by a 100% locally owned Tanzanian company who operate in accordance with the Tanzanian Association of Tour Operators (TATO) and in line with Tanzania National Park guidelines.

The park fees that are generated by your visit go directly into local conservation and development projects sponsored by Tanzania National Parks e.g assisting community development initiatives, such as schools, health dispensaries, water schemes and roads and encouraging villagers to develop cultural tourism projects in order to cultivate their own financial returns from park visitors.

Accommodation used in Arusha is 100% owned by local Tanzanian companies and employ 100% local staff. The Hotel has water saving system in place, and encourages guests to minimise laundry use eg. towel recycling. Camp crew and guides are all locally employed.

As with all our groups, the maximum number of participants is 12, larger groups than this can wreck camping areas very quickly. To lessen the impact on the dirt road system, guests are split into smaller groups travelling in smaller vehicles rather than big trucks. For example 8-10 people would be split between 2-3 vehicles. Before setting off participant will receive a thorough briefing on the do’s & don’ts whilst in the vehicles and in the National Park area. Supplies whilst on camp are sourced exclusively from locally owned shops & businesses.

We believe in Fair Travel Trading, and adhere to the principles of Green Globe 21, for which Nigel Gifford OBE, FRGS and Founder, is the advisor on adventure travel worldwide. We support a variety of charities that strive for better conditions for staff who work in ‘off the beaten track’ tourism. In the Indian sub-continent and South America we help to provide better conditions for porters, and the protection of indigenous peoples in remote and fragile places such as rainforests and the sub-polar regions.

All our trips are operated and planned in line with PATA and Green Globe 21 principles. We expect our clients to be committed to sustainable tourism and we offer you the chance to contribute to Climate Care, from GB £12 per person.

Tourism can be good and bad for destinations & local people.

We carefully screen every holiday against our criteria for responsible travel.

'Look behind the brochure' to find how each holiday makes a difference (see left).

We don't claim to be perfect - there is no global accreditation - but we've led the way since 2001 and screened 1000's of holidays.

We invite every traveller to write a review about their experiences and responsible tourism.

This valuable feedback is sent to the people who run the holidays. We keep a very close eye on it and take off holidays that don't live up to our standards.
